Palm Continental is the worst accommodation......I paid way in advance, I called several times to ensure all is in order but when arriving I waited since 8:00am right until 2:00pm in my car as the place was not ready.....Receptionist knew I was waiting but never bothered to refer me to the restaurant to wait, never even bothered that I was waiting. I requested to see management, but was told manager is in a meeting.......I went back to sit in the car and waited, eventually phoned reception from my car requesting to be put through to management. Receptionist sitting and having their own discussions, not bothered to answer the call, not realizing I am watching them from my car... I was eventually put through "several" times by the receptionist but to a phone that was going straight to voicemail each time. Receptionist just continued chatting to each other and even went for lunch...LUNCH!!!!......eventually management comes at 1:45pm, takes us to the restaurant to have a seat and leaves us there for 15 minutes not bothered and heads out in his car......I was escorted to my room @ 2:00pm which had absolutely no towels, the fridge was not on, the curtains had pins hanging on them as they were broken.........I requested for towels multiple times, but have not received a single towel, not even a hand towel......waiting for a lift to go to reception to take the matter up, there were 2 HUGE, VERY HUGE ****ROACHES running in the corridor.....I than turn around, grabbed my bags in my room, handed the keys to reception and left the place........I e-mailed Palm Continental to sent me the e-mail address of management to let them know how disappointing this was not to mention MONEY WASTING, but I have not heard anything.........NOTHING......I would not even give this place half a star....disappointment is an understatement!!!!!!!

We had the worst experience at this establishment. Had a 2 night stay over the weekend with my wife. Checked in Friday afternoon. Friday night prior to getting into bed, we found faeces on the bed, we assumed it must have been a gecko of some sort, never the less we went to bed. My wife woke me and said she had hurt some scratching noises by the cupboards, I woke,Put on the light and nothing. We remained quite until we heard the noise again, I went to the cupboard of where the noise came from and a rat ran out. A rat!!! Called reception at 12 at night explained to the guy, he says there is no one to assist us and he is alone furthermore he had no available rooms to move us to. I calmed my wife down. Left the TV on thinking some sort of noise will keep this rat at bay but I was in for a surprise. About 15 minutes later, the thing was running around again. My wife refused to be in the room, she went down while I tried to find it. Guy from reception came up, looked for it with me but we couldn't find it. Explained to him I will not accept this, he then says he has a available room on the second floor. Now, my question is why was I not assisted the first time. I asked him and he completely ignored me. We moved rooms at approximately 12:40 in the morning with no assistance whatsoever. Next morning, we called house keeping 2 times for the iron and ironing board till eventually I had to go down myself to ask what's the delay. While my wife was in the salon located at the hotel I walked around and found myself near the pool (heater doesnt work) but I heard some noises on the roof and when i looked up and i see these huge rats racing along the roof. Now this explains alot as my initial room was on the 3rd floor. I was gobsmacked. Luckily there was no rat in our new room but she was terrified at any sound we heard. So we really didn't have a pleasant time. The wifi didnt work all the time and the staff wasnt the most friendly or accommodating. We never ate at the restaurant because of our experience with the rats in our room so we could not be sure their kitchen was completely hygienic. Our first and last time at this hotel!!!!!!!!!

<p>In september this year we booked 3 nights at The Palm Continental. We received news from Cape town early morning after our 1st night that made us have to change our plan and return urgently to Cape Town. I spoke to reception and all was OK. 3 Months later and 4 emails later with promises to sort out the refund I am still waiting for a response from the GM Altaff Shaik and I find this service exceptionally appauling. My last email from them was 10/11/2016 and a person by Farzeen was cc'd in by Mr Shaik.</p> <p>I hope this is not how they treat all their clients.</p> <p>Absolute silence from The Palm Continental has me thinking that they o not put their clients interest first as what should be the case in a service orietated market that they find themselves in.</p> <p>Hope that soon i will receive an answer .</p> <p> </p>

<p>They over charge for their meals, and for a buffet the selection of foods is very minimum, the desserts were disgusting. Don't bother wasting your time or money. Not worth it.</p>
