I'd give ZERO stars if I could. My car had a minor accident in late August 2023 and it took Panel City about three weeks to even collect the car. Nine months later, it was still with them "waiting for parts". It's now been exactly one year since the accident, and I still don't have my car back. The latest is that the car won't start and Panel City "doesn't know why". Communication is incredibly poor and highly erratic, sometimes getting automated updates, sometimes not, and there's NEVER any helpful information other than "we're waiting for the ETA on delivery". I've been given no proof that the parts have even been ordered, any explanation why the delay is so long, where the parts have been ordered from - nothing. Whenever I've called, the manager is always "on lunch", and nobody has been able to give me the information or assurance that I need. They honestly just don't seem to care at all about the customer's experience or even their own reputation. I think it goes without saying that this is the worst experience I have ever had with any kind of organisation.

Panelcity panelbeaters Mthatha owned by Mr Maharaj, provides the worst and poorest service to its clients. They have zero SLA’s, they blame service providers instead of doing a holistic evaluation of the vehicle then requesting the correct parts, the completion of jobs is slow and their feedback/updates to clients is none existent. It’s sad that their clients must be chasing after them for feedback on their vehicles yet it’s the clients cars that need to be fixed that even keeps his business running, pays his employees salaries and furthermore affords him his lifestyle. I am appalled by the the service we have received from this company and do not suggest anyone to take their cars there rather find a panel beater in EL or Durban and better yet when your insurance company suggests them tell them no and to look at all the low ratings on this companies reviews they have received.

Panelcity panelbeaters Mthatha owned by Mr Maharaj, provides the worst and poorest service to its clients. Panel City Kokstad They have had my car for two months and only thing they keep telling me is ”supplier parts issue”. Mind you the car was not in a major accident with another vehicle. It got hit by a tyre that came off a trailer on the left hand side. All they had to do is fix the control shaft and minor repairs to the bumper, get new tyres and align the car. They are now asking me for contacts of suppliers? Me? The customer? Ridiculous!!! Absolutely disgusting service. They should not be associated with any insurance company ever! I am sure they get paid for storing the vehicle, because if they weren’t. They would act with a bit more urgency than this. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO PANEL CITY, unless you want to park it there for a few months. Highly unhappy customer!

Panel City Mthatha has given me bad customer service. My car has been with them since the 18th of June 2023 & it’s still with them even now, they have been giving me excuses when I called them & they don’t reply to my emails. They have never initiated communication to give me updates I’m the one who must call them & sometimes they say they will get back to me & they never do. Their manager(Hendry) never had time to talk to me when I request to speak. to him

Unprofessional and poor customer service I experienced with panel City my car have been at panel City Umtata Vulindlela heights since 20 June 2023, my claim was approved and repair authorization letter was sent on 30 June 2023 on the 10th July I was called to pay axcess deposit of which I did pay on the 1th of July till to date they are still waiting for parts for a vw car, what is more frustrating and disgusting is they don't keep me updated of what is happening with my car I have to call them myself and I asked them nicely to please keep me posted and that is not happening last week I was told the parts are back order and I asked what does that even mean and I was told they have been ordered outside South Africa, my insurance is also not helping Affinity Insurance cause they not even returning my calls as well

Very inexperienced with zero customer service!! Kept the car for 2 months, and kept shifting the goal post on when the car is returning. Would never send car back to them, ever!!

Panel City is extremely *********** and is always trying to find ways to shift the blame. My car has been in with them for 4 months. They updated the insurance systems saying the repairs are complete. 2 days later the car was back with them with issues that they should have fixed as part of my claim. Generally they provide no updates on work, and rely heavily on the delay of parts delivery. No one seems to know what is going on, and it just seems like they only rush to claim huuge amounts from Insurance, and do half job repairs, as a way to claim more. If you want to deal with added hell in your life, then go here. It makes no sense why insurances still have them as a trusted service provider because they are so ***********, spent a whole day there and NOT ONE person who came in was satisfied with their service.

If you want to deal with added hell in your life, then go here. I’m extremely happy with the service I received. Both technical and the regular updates I received from the team. My car was damage and booked in on the week the body shop closed. But as soon as they opened in January, they worked on it. I was even able to arrange for pick by a different person and to pay the excess by eft. 5/5 for me 👏
