In our personal experience, Paratus has mastered a rare talent in South Africa’s already terrible internet landscape by somehow managing to outperform all the other bad providers by being… even worse. It’s almost impressive how bad their serivice is. I would send you the constant email chain of complaints and begging for them to fix their lines. Their service makes Eskom look like a success story. If you enjoy pain, then Paratus is your soulmate. Otherwise, spare yourself the emotional damage. Avoid at all costs.

Espag Game Lodge has been a client of Paratus since March 2022. We have been complaining about Paratus and the wifi line literally ever since it was installed, March 2022. We have proof dated back to March 2022 whereby we lodged complaints that the wifi is not working as promised. The complaints to them were endless without any real assistance from them. Please note that Espag Game Lodge is not where we reside on a daily basis but when we do go to the farm we are not able to the basic things via the wifi like make payments on banking apps we even struggle to receive whatsapps and whatsapp calls. A majority of the time it even says connected without any internet. On the 29 April we did a speed test again this day it was only myself and my husband on the farm, please note no one streaming either. The upload speed was 1.05 the download speed 3.42. We have a video that the signal was so bad that we could almost not even get the speed test done. The reason for us being on the farm that weekend is because after complaining again, Paratus promised us to send out a technician to the farm to see exactly what the problem is. We also have proof via whatsapp of this. Once we got to the farm they had excuses and once again they remotely connected to our laptop via anydesk as a million times before without any success. Please note we drove all the way from Pretoria to Vygenboomfontein to meet Paratus at the farm and they did not commit as promised. In all these years we could not get them to physically come out to the farm to see exactly what the problem was with the line. Paratus client service is extremely poor and we have wasted thousands of rands since 2022 for a service that has never worked properly. The only reason we stayed with Paratus is because there was no other service provider in this area where the farm is situated. We only feel it fair that Paratus will reimburse us for a service not received.

I have 2 separate packages - both Max Unlimited 10 - I should get up to 10mbps download speeds per site, and in past it was stable at around 8mbps. 6 Mar - I email advising my average speed is down between 1.5 to 1.6mbps. A* responds asking what times it is slow. I advise ALL the time. No word back from Paratus. 10 Mar I ask again. No response. 11 Mar I ask again. A* answers that he is speaking to network team. Then made a change which see made it even slower. No response after I tell him. 12 Mar I get a one liner asking me if I can get into my bank and other apps. I advise it is still too slow and everything times out. 13 Mar - nothing from Paratus. I ask again. L* asks S* to check. S* advises me that my speeds are “well within the contracted speeds of a Broad Band Fair Share Service”. I questioned this Fair Service but get no response. 14 Mar I ask again. I get reply that both dishes are unaligned. I question this because sometimes I get full speeds, other times there’s nothing. I asked questions - no reply.. On BOTH dishes!?! Today is 10 Apr - 35 days later. No resolution. Still paying for 2x 10mbps package and only getting an average of 0.7mbps service on both.

We live very far from any big town or major center, so internet options are very limited. We have been using this company for more than a year now and since day one we have been struggling with them. We pay quite a bit of money every month for 10mbs but most of the time we are lucky if we get even half that speed, some days we have to be happy with a third of that speed. Just about every day I have to reset the system just to be able to get online. It is so bad that I can't even link 2 security cameras to the wifi. What makes it worse is that we operate a small lodge and regularly have to try and explain to clients why the internet is not working. Every time I contact them, I have to waste hours of my time with them on the phone, answering the same questions and running the same tests and it's always the same excuses, but no matter how many times I ask, they refuse to arrange for a technician to come to me and properly check the system. They would rather try and convince you to double your speed package (at double the price of course), which my neighbors did and they are now having even more problems. They simply don't care about their customers, especially out here because they know we don't really have any choice.

We all pay for an uncapped 20 Gig line, but we are lucky if we get 1 Gig any time, it maight drop to as little as 0.1 Gig or just no internet. Paratus make sure to take their money each month, even if they can not produce what they say. If I want to cancel, the respose is to pay the outstanding balance on the contract, or they will sue me. To all people out there, dont support these guys, they are not a serious provider Thx Nico</div>

Paid for 20mpbs contract, first year was OK but start having problems with verry bad buffering. Done a lot of test and complaining onley to be told it the norm to be getting 5mbps or less on 20mpbs contract even though I am paying for 20mpbs. Very bad service. Wil not recommend to any body. I hope the paratus team Wil be able to clear there name. Waiting for there respons

Paid for 20mpbs contract, first year was OK but start having problems with verry bad buffering. Done a lot of test and complaining onley to be told it the norm to be getting 5mbps or less on 20mpbs contract even though I am paying for 20mpbs. Very bad service. Wil not recommend to any body. I hope the paratus team Wil be able to clear there name. Waiting for there respons
