Service is utterly appalling! Way understaffed and not one non alcoholic beer (Heineken 0.0, Corona 0.0, castle free etc) available in the conference centre, all three bars and in the restaurant. People were waiting forever to be served. I don't see how the Casino area will last much longer. Really disappointed.

Stayed at the Mondior Hotel on Saturday night and was very disappointed at the room. The staff is still brilliant but the hotel room was a bit of a disaster..1st the key card wouldn't open the door. Maintenance come a few times but couldn't fix it. So every time I had to go to the room I had to get reception to open the door. Then there was the shower handle that fell off and I had to ***** it back on. The carpet also needs a good scrub. All in all this was an unpleasant experience, with the exception of really brilliant staff. At the very least, maintain the rooms and clean them properly BEFORE guests check in

As regular guests of the Metcourt Hotel at Emperors Palace, we are appalled by how far the standards have fallen. What used to be a convenient and pleasant stay has now turned into a consistently frustrating experience — and sadly, this most recent visit was the worst yet. Let’s start with the breakfast staff. The ladies working in the breakfast area, at the front are beyond rude — it’s as if they’ve been instructed to treat guests with disdain. The attitude is condescending, and they carry themselves with a superiority complex that is both unwarranted and completely unprofessional. This is not a one-off experience; we’ve noticed this same unacceptable behavior over multiple stays. At this point, it seems deeply ingrained in the service culture, which is unacceptable for a hotel of this supposed caliber. We are demanding a formal apology for the way we’ve been treated. Unfortunately, the problems don’t end there. The rooms are barely functional. On this stay alone, the air conditioning was faulty, which left the room stuffy and uncomfortable. Half the appliances simply don’t work — lights flicker or don’t switch on, plugs are loose, and maintenance seems to be nonexistent. The TV doesn’t work properly, cutting out channels and freezing regularly. As for the WiFi, it’s practically unusable. In 2025, this is inexcusable — especially for a hotel that charges “premium rates”. We’ve been loyal to Metcourt for a long time, but at this rate, we’re seriously reconsidering. The consistent lack of respect from the breakfast staff, coupled with the rapidly deteriorating condition of the rooms and unreliable amenities, has left us feeling deeply disappointed. If management is reading this, you owe your guests better — and you certainly owe us an apology. Fix your staff. Fix your rooms. Or you’ll keep losing the guests who used to believe in this place.

We support the Peermont brand and use accommodation when we travel if Peermont hotels are available. We receive sms s & emails about special offers constantly. This week I received a birthday message ( my birthday is this week ) offering me a two night stay when I used the birthday promo code . They sent no promo code , I enquired about the promo code and I was told the message was sent out in error . Leaves a bad taste Peermont . Are these ****s or are you goading people to make bookings under false pretenses

Our Company booked international colleagues into the metcourt hotel for their visit to our South African operation. What an absolute DISASTER!! Managment allow guest to have parties in rooms, with loud music and noise until early hours of the morning (4am)!! Guest phoned down to reception 3 TIMES with absolutely nothing done about it!!! Tried to call Hotel Manager, but was told he is "in a meeting".... If you are looking for a peaceful stay... you will not get it here!

Headed to breakfast around 9:30 and returned to the room just before 11:00 to find the room being cleaned. Returned about 3 times between then and 14:00 and the room was STILL not completed. Went to reception to complain as my mother is ill and needed to rest (which is what we came to do, REST) and the gentleman couldn’t be bothered as it seems I had interrupted his conversation with a ***orker. He, seemingly nonchalant, instructed me to go search for the cleaning supervisor and enquire with them… FOUR HOURS LATER, the room was cleaned. Why pay heaps for a “4 star hotel” if I’m going to be required to spend almost half the day outside of said hotel? You people need to DO BETTER and place people at the reception who are more hospitable! We pay too much money to be inconvenienced in ANY way.
