We bought a 50ltr compressor on the 3rd of November 2020 and it came with a 1 year warranty. Used it once and tried to use it again on the 21 of December 2020 it switched on for 20 minutes after it switched itself off and never started again. We took it back on the same 21 of December 2020 and Mr Jackie helped us and said it seems like they have a factory problem cos some customers brought them back. They took it and changed the motto and adviced us to use it the following day and we did that. But it gave the same problem again we rushed to the shop to take it back again only to find they had closed for the December holidays that was on the 22 December. We even took pictures to show them we were at their gates on that day. Then on the 14th January 2021 we went and told Mr Jackie we want a refund cos they tried to fix first time it didn't work and we lose money by this thing not working and its fairly still new to be doing this. Then he called his manager Mr Desmond Bender who from the on set did not want to listen to us. When we tried to explain the problem he didn't want to listen and twisted our words when we said its the 3rd time we are coming now with the same problem and said we said its the 3rd time the compressor had been fixed which is a lie. Then he rudely asked why we used it the following day, when we tried to explain that his technician that fixed the compressor is the one that instructed us in front of Mr Jackie that we must not use the compressor on the same day after fixing but start using it the following day which we did as instructed. But Mr Bender said we are lying and we said he must call the technician which he did and the technician came and confirmed our story that he is the one that said we should use it the following day. After this Mr Bender did not apologise to us since he accused us of lying. Mr Bender kept being rude and screaming at us and shouting at us like we are kids, not wanting check the compressor or refund us. All this happened in front of Mr Jackie instead when we asked why he treated us this way called security and instructed him to throw us out with this compressor. I was heart broken at the disrespect we received at the hands of this Manager Mr Bender. The security refused to kick us out cos they saw what was happening instead when Mr Bender went to his office the staff told us he treats all customers like this and gets away with it. We are not the first and not the last, even them they are treated this way. Then he came back and said they should take the compressor at the back to check it but said if he finds that we broke it we will pay. So you can see he wants to put the blame on us cos we know nothing about fixing or opening the compressor and we never even tried to open it except when his technician fixed it the first time. The following day we got a call from Mr Jackie to say that they switched on the compressor a day after and it worked. We then told him it does that but after few minutes it switches off for hours which is not supposed to do that. On the last incident it switched on for few minutes and never worked for more than 2 hours that is when we decided to rather take it back cos its faulty. Then we asked Mr Jackie why did he Mr Bender not test the compressor in front to us to see if it was going to work or not but he decided to do it the following day when we are not there. The first time we brought it on the 22 of December Mr Jackie and the technician tested it in front of us and we all saw it was faulty. Chances are they fixed it or it worked for few minutes like it normally does and will switch off again after few minutes for hours at most. So Mr Jackie said Mr Bender wants us to pay R300 for wasting his time. How is that even right? This thing has a one year warranty, they know these compressors are faulty but he wants us to pay, how is that even right? He is spiteful and its their job to make sure this thing is fixed whilst under warranty. I asked Mr Jackie that they talk about refunds when you buy but when you experience a problem they don't want to help you. How can he say we must pay R300 for wasting his time when its their job to check if their goods work or not. Mr Bender, is rude, treats customers very bad no one else should go through that. He will keep doing it to others like he did the previous ones. His own staff told us he threatens customers who bring back faulty staff and I think the reason for doing that and making us pay is so we never set foot again there cos why else will he make us pay for something that is under warranty. His staff said about 10 of these faulty compressors were brought back by customers. They take your money and treat you like trash afterwards. Mr Bender even said to me he doesn't care I can go report him to the media, he just doesn't care. I am sure there are good businesses out there that respect their customers but Pinnacle Welding is not one of them.
