I was issued with a compliance certificate from a insurance claim service provider, I was unsure of the workmanship and contacted PIRB. What an absolute pleasure. They are well versed and on point with the legalities. They did not hesitate to assist me and sent a investigator to do an audit. The work done was ******* do was the COC and the plumbers registration expired. My insurance company still ignores the issue Thank you PIRB for you outstanding assistance

If there was 0 star I would rate this bunch of thieves. Every plumber even if they are legal in the industry for more that 20 years are bullied down to the ground. Robbed with their hard worked money. Every year they bring in more into the system to make the average plumber suffer more. First the CPD points system.. Plumbers are working outside in the construction industry. They can not sit infront of the computer the whole day like the bunch at pirb that sits in their offices the whole day searching where to steal more from the plumber. Again the took away the paper based COCs we can buy from instore for R178. Now you have to buy online from PIRB paper based for R441 for them to send. If you choose to register the COC electronically they don't allow you to print it you have to buy paper based. They are so clever because they know that each home owner need a copy for insurance etc. How can someone be a thief like this? I have never seen a filthy bunch of people like this.

If you claim to regulate and uplift the standards in the plumbing industry under the premise that you are authorized by SAQA but can't do anything about the fly by night 'bakkie' plumbers, as you can only take action against your own registered members which by the way has to be qualified plumbers, then surely you are regulating the wrong people. There are so many questions regarding irregularities but to name a few: If you want to uplift an industry you don't only select the areas you want to regulate that has the most traffic ie. hot water generation (geysers, heat pumps and solar) ensuring your certificate of compliance has to be bought in mass, you surely regulate all areas of plumbing like sewerage, storm water drainage, venting, installations of water supplies, waste pipes etc. How come other trades' certificates of compliance ie. elctricity, gas, roofing etc. cost a tenth of a PIRB coc, I mean R190 per certificate compared to R12, doesn't make sense. SAQA suggests a continuous development program (cpd points) which they suggest a minimum of 5 points but PIRB sets a minimum of 25 points per annum but you only get 0.5 points per webinar you attend, if you have done manufacturers cources for solar of heat pumps, they don't recognize them till you complete it through their training company at a couple thousand Rand ofcourse. As in most cases where dealings feel off you can simply follow the money, as a NPO their financials must surely be made public knowledge to see where what has gone. They simply keep lying and trying every tactic to delay the inevitable, they have been raking in millions under false claims and must be reprimanded.

I can not earn a living any more because thay created a cpd point system that you need a certain amount of points in a year calendar so that you can Continue to purchase coc's that insurance companies demand from our red seal plumbers. I had to lay down two of my teams that is now without a job and I am struggling to feed my family

PIPB is trading illegally, and under false premise and stealing our money. See extras from latest SAQA statement and complete link below #pirbmustfall SAQA wants to make it clear that it is not within its mandate to appoint the PIRB to monitor the standards of the plumbing industry, as claimed by the PIRB on its false premise that it is “duly registered by SAQA in terms of the NQF Act”. SAQA must emphasise that: • the PIRB is a non-statutory professional body and (unlike statutory professional bodies) has no statutory authority to regulate the plumbing trade/occupation; • the PIRB exercises professional authority by virtue of its constitution/founding document which binds its membership only; • membership/registration concerning a non-statutory professional body is voluntary and the PIRB has no authority over non-members; and • recognition by SAQA for purposes of the NQF does not confer any greater authority on PIRB in respect of the plumbing trade/occupation.
