I bought a 2015 fiat 500 on 14 December 2024 and paid R65000 cash. I drove from dealership and not even 5kms in the engine light came on. Sent salesman Joos a voice note and he told me to bring the vehicle back. Went back and was told to take the vehicle to their Mechanic at DJ Auto. Mechanic told me the cambelt had to be replaced amd that parts would take 3 days for delivery. I left the vehicle at DJ Auto. Two days later they told me to collect the vehicle as all was now fixed. Collected the car and engine light still came on. Turned around and went back to Mechanic. I was told that it was due to the Blue and Me bluetooth that was faulty that the engine light kept coming on. I was assured that the car was fine. Started work on 15 January and got stuck on the N1 with the vehicle. Vehicle was towed into my mechanic and surprise surprise the cambelt had never been replaced. I phoned Ombudsman who told me that I do have a claim against dealership but that I need to park the car and lodge a complaint and not use the vehicle until complaint has been resolved which can take up to 6months. I need the vehicle to commute to work and back so this was not a viable option. Had the cambelt replaced at a cost of R14500. Had vehicle serviced at an additional cost of R5800. On Friday, 7 March, engine light came back on and again went and stood on N1. Coil pack had to be replaced at a cost of R4500. To add to this the vehicle uses 2 pints of oil a week so there is clearly an issue with the engine. I have sent numerous whatsapp messages that are simply blue ticked and my calls go unanswered. I sit now with a vehicle that by the looks and sounds of things this morning will need an engine overall. Please never ever buy from this dealership they are dishonest
