Absolutely Game Changing! I am a professional photographer/videographer and I have had the priveledge to have Premium Brands aka Nikon SA as a business partner for over 15 years. Converted to Nikon looking for a supplier who will be there for me when I need them, especially when it comes to service and repairs and having my back in the time of need. Not only this, Nikon has impacted my career and has made effort to develop myself and event the youngsters on my team. A solid company who cares and that understands business!!

I tried to get a Nikon lens repaired. The lens lost one of the retaining *****s on the Zoom ring which is a well known problem with this Nikon lens. I was forced to pay R400 before the lens would even be inspected. Having no choice i paid. After days i received a quote for more than R12000 for the repair! Needless to say i did not except that ridiculous charge. In desperation i did some research and found a Youtube video on the exact issue. 20 minutes later i fixed the zoom ring issue myself and the lens has been as good as new ever since. Seems like this supplier are making their profits from inspection payments and then handing out such ridiculous quotes that nobody will except. That is a win-win business model right there as they are the sole distributor of Nikon camera equipment in South Africa.

I have been a customer of Premium Brand Distributors in its various guises for more than 40 years and have always received excellent service, whether it be purchasing, service or repairs. The promptness with which the deal especially with equipment recalls is exemplary - leaving their equivalents in the the USA & elsewhere way behind.

This company doesn't communicate. I dropped off an item more than two weeks ago and received no feedback. Very difficult to get a hold of them by telephone and when you do they send you from pillar to post and eventually the line drops as no one picks it up. Emails sent to contact people also receives no response. Woeful service

I am utterly dismayed by the level of incompetence displayed by Premium Brand’s service department. For reference I own a Sony ZV-1. Despite three attempts, they have failed to resolve the issue with my camera. To make matters worse, they insisted on charging me for replacement parts that were completely unnecessary. Their lack of expertise and willingness to overcharge for unnecessary repairs is unacceptable. Prospective customers should be wary of entrusting their valuable equipment to Premium Brand’s service department. For reference, the camera is worth about R14k, I’ve spent about R11k on repairs now. The camera still has the very same issue that I’ve taken it in for. To add insult to injury, I initially took the camera in for repairs on the 7th July, now end of September: Im down R11k & 3 months of production lost, still with a broken camera. Fast forward a week, Lourens (Repairs Technical Manager) arranges for a loan unit to be sent to me (while they investigate for the 4th time what is wrong with the camera). In my first minute of testing the loan camera ****erally a few seconds after opening the box), the SD card slot does not work. Premium Brand sent through a loan Sony ZV-1, 2 x batteries + 1 SD card. The SD card simply wont lock into position, meaning the camera cannot be used. I respond moments later to Lourens, saying that the loan camera has been received, but its defective. Their response is that it was tested before they sent it out. I have zero confidence in their "testing", Premium Brand sent me back my Sony ZV-1 3 times (yes THREE TIMES) and within a single use of receiving it back, the original defect presented itself. I wish that someone higher up at Premium Brand will contact me - perhaps a director or shareholder who actually cares about the business. Their service department is honestly the worst experience one can have. I can honestly say, its better to replace with a different brand, then to repair with Premium Brand.

Took my Nikon in for a service / clean and soft focus, and calibrate the lense. Just to do inspection is R540 and that is on top of the ridiculous price. If you ask questions, they just don't reply at all until you do a payment, then they reply and move forward. Will not be using them again. Had to pay to get my camera and lens back otherwise they would still not answer my emails.

Investing in a top-end camera is an expensive undertaking. But let’s be honest - Nikon is good kit. I’ve been a loyal supporter for 35 years. Because of the price of new cameras and lenses you can’t afford to replace them when things go wrong. You need to have it serviced. This is where you pick up problems. Premium Brands are the local distributers and “authorized” repair centre. I have heard many stories of Nikon Ambassadors leaving Nikon for other brands of cameras because of inferior service and support received from Premium Brands. But I took my chances and sent them my camera to have the sensor cleaned. What could possibly go wrong? They have cleaned the sensor before and did a good job. It arrived back with scratches on the sensor. I queried this and was told “When we received the camera we opened the Shutter on mirror lock up, inspected the sensor with a loupe noticed the marks and only did a blow with clean air. The camera was then returned in the same state.” Here’s what really happened: the technician did a hack job. It looks like he ate a bunny chow for lunch on my sensor . Instead of taking responsibility for damaging the sensor it was easier to say that he received the camera with scratches on the sensor. The camera is useless and can be written off. Am I ever going to invest in Nikon again? No. It makes no sense as sooner or later I will run the risk of someone at Premium Brands destroying my investment. Fellow photographers - if you own a Nikon and live in South Africa: you have been warned. So long Nikon. It’s time to part ways. Thank you for the memories and the great images we created together. Please understand that it’s not your fault - it’s the inferior service from Premium Brands.
