So I live in South Africa and I was trying to buy the OnePlus 6T from amazon.in since it is cheaper there. After a single delivery attempt the delivery "failed" for some unspecified reason. Then I immediately got into the amazon help chat and made it clear that I did NOT want a refund to be processed as I would lose money in the exchange rates and I was told that the delivery would be retried. after waiting the prescribed 3 days I received an email saying that the refund had been initiated, I got back onto the amazon help chat and spoke to 4 different help staff to whom I re-explained the exchange rate issue and that did NOT want a refund to be processed and they each assured me that there would not be a refund. And then this morning the refund was payed into me bank account and as expected it is short. So I got back onto amazon help chat and re-explained the whole story, only to be told that they cant help me and that I must simply accept the money that I have lost. Great customer service there. In summary: The total of the order was 45999.00 Rupee The amount that I was charged was 9743.32 Rand The amount that I was refunded was 9389.20 Rand and so I am now short 354.12 Rand and I'm told by amazon.in help staff that I must just accept that.
