Think before you take out Life Insurance with Discovery Life... They did not pay out a friend of mine who has Breast Cancer now for over a year. They said to her that she was not sick enough and her one breast was removed about 6 months ago and she is still on Chemeo treatment.
Now you have decided NOT TO PAY OUT HER POLICY ! She has 3RD DEGREE BREAST CANCER and has been going for Chemo and Radiation for over a year ! On what terms have you decided not to pay out the policy ? YOU ARE A BAD INSURANCE COMPANY. I'm GETTING LEGAL ADVICE. SHAME ON YOU.
Now they told my friend that they will investigate this matter and it could take another month and they could ask her for more documents where she has given them everything! They say they resolve every claim with 9 months but hers has taken now more than a YEAR !! NEVER INSURE WITH DISCOVERY PEOPLE ! THEY PLAY FOR TIME, SHE COULD DIE WHILE WAITING !!!

A very good friend of mine from Vredenburg has a policy with Discovery Life and got sick with cancer a year ago when she claimed her policy. SHE HAS BEEN STRUGGLING FOR A YEAR FOR THEM TO PAY HER OUT. They keep on telling her to send this form and that form and then she would e-mail them to say that she mailed it to them on an earlier date. They are playing for time not to pay her. She is struggling to work because of the Chemo medication that she is undertaking and doesn`t know what to do. It seems like they care at all !
The WORST COURIER SERVICE EVER !!! I ordered paint from JHB to be delivered to Dwarskersbos and from JHB to Cape Town to Malmesbury's The Courier Guy, all of them are useless ! The lost and damage some of the tins, they don't know where it is or when it's going to be delivered. It is now a week and I have received Nothing ! Don't use The Courier Guy if you want your goods in one piece.
NO REPLY FROM THEM ! The NHBRC does nothing for it`s members and just passing the buck. When I complained about my membership that I couldn`t renew online because their system wouldn`t allow me to, this is the response I get from Mrs van der Berg at the Western Cape branch: Dear Sibongile, Please assist. Stay Safe Kind regards Agnes Van den Berg NHBRC Marketing - Western Cape No one wants to work anymore and they just move it on to someone else without listening to the client's problem. They are becoming like every government institution. Stil I am not registered and my membership hasn`t been renewed for 2023. Absolutely useless !

When someone rides into your Car you better pray that his insurance is not with Santam !!! It so happened to me that a woman (from Pronto Insurance Company- Vredenburg nogal) drove into me in Langebaan after which all the necessary documents were provided to her SANTAM insurance. They then send me an e-mail saying that it will take up to 60+10+30 BUSINESS DAYS to finalise my claim and then another 10 business days for payment !!! That is 110 business day before they can pay you out and in the mean time you must drive around with a dented car !? Why do they need 5 MONTHS to process a simple claim ? Is it the incompetent people working there like the rest of SA or what ?
