This 'company' tried to **** us claiming to be a collections company appointed by Eskom to collect R14k of arrears. They said if we didn't settle immediately or make a Payment Arrangement, a summons would be issued. We contacted Eskom and asked for a statement of account showing all payment over the last year. This was issued to us and and the statement showed our account was up to date and no amounts were outstanding. I then contacted the 'attorney' in BTF Global who referred us to 'a collections clerk' in Eskom's Bellville offices who confirmed the same arrear amount claimed by BTF. It turned out to be a **** supported by an Eskom employee. Be careful, it was very convincing.

I asked Knysna Motor ********s to assist me when my Peugeot Partner (Grand Raide) broke down because the vee belt came off. They replaced the belt and charged me accordingly but a week later the same thing happened and a further vee belt was fitted and charged for. Not long after this the belt and pulley system became very noisy and the belt came off yet again. It was refitted and lubricant was sprayed on the belt. I asked the owner again to resolve the underlying cause of the problem and they quoted to fit a new idler pulley, recondition the aircon clutch pully, attend to the alternator pulley, fit yet another vee belt and recondition the starter motor which came to R7926.53. This excluded aproximately R2000 I had already paid out. Immediately upon collecting my vehicle the noise was evident again and I made arrangements to bring the car back to get it resolved. The owner then sprayed more lubricant on the belt. This was not acceptable and I insisted they rersolve the issue for which I had now paid more than R10 000 for a noisy vee belt.

Despite many efforts Knysna Motor ********s were unable to take my car in till about seven months after the repairs were carried out and when they did the said that they needed to replace the vee belt tensioner. I made it clear in an email to them I was not happy and I was going to pay any further to resolve the issue. They then fitted the vee belt tensioner and demanded payment stating that there was no guarantee on the original repairs which I disputed. I was rudely told "lets cut to the chase - are you paying for the repairs or am I going to lock your car away" so I paid a further R1184.33 to retrieved my car and later established from their invoices that the repairs were indeed guaranteed.

That however was not the end of it. Two days after c ollecting the vehicle I was not able to start it and it needed to go back for further repairs. At this stage I elected to write off the R11164 I had paid to fix a noisy vee belt and I took the vehicle to anothert workshop who have since resolved the problem for a charge of R480.
