I can't speak for anyone else but my personal experience at this clinic was absolutely horrible. I suffer from Pcos and because of that suffer from hormonal hairloss and made it very clear in my initial consultation, the lady at the time said that we can definitely regrow my hair again. So I paid 9k for laser for 6 months and hair products to help my scalp in growing new hair with a follow up consult after 3 months to check progress. Unfortunately the scalpt derm resigned around that time. The lady who took over said that she could not do a consult because blood tests were supposed to be done at my initial consult due to my pcos. A week later and she still wasn't able to tell me exactly what blood tests they required, a week later she does do my 3 month follow up and after checking my hair she told me that i do have hair growth but it needs to be sustained and advised Mesotherapy which cost me 8k and after two weeks she hands me a form for Lancet saying that medical aid covers the tests. They do not. I paid R2400 for the tests. The Dr who conducts the meso asked the lady why she did not prescribe Prp and she told him in my presence that i had andro alopecia and that i had massive hair growth in 3 months, this is off course untrue as i have been consistent in hair loss. she also advised me that my blood work was normal and that she confirmed it with the head of scalp dermatology in Jhb. Some thing did not feel right so after i decided to take it up with head office. What a waste. The lady listened to my husband's concerns and said she will investigate and call back but cut to a month later and no response. We called Jhb offices again and I spoke to the lady there myself and explained the above and that she did not get back to us. So she asked me to send her pics of my hair on WhatsApp, i did. She responds via email... I have a diffuse hair loss, my ferratin levels are below 70 which means that is the only time i can do prp which then Means that is the only time i can regrow hair. Added to this my vit D level is 27 and needs to be between 60-80. The meso will help to add nutrients to the hair i already have and laser helps promote regrowth but according to my understanding and off course a second opinion (as i was clearly not getting any proper information at HCI) new hair growth hasn't been possible until i can get my bloods at those levels. Why? Why on earth was this not an issue of escalation at their company. There was no formal apology, no regret from staff, no proper information communicated and very uninformed decisions. Even if there is something I am not understanding, even if i could be wrong, why hasn't anyone even tried to make it right? Why did i have to phone in so many times to even get a response from Jhb when it was supposed to all be done in Cpt, at the initial or 3 month consult? instead i was told my bloods are normal, everything is fine but nothing is fine. The company advertises hormone therapy amongst many other treatments but am i to assume that it is just advertising? I do understand it is also a sales based company. i write this as a woman who started this journey at HCI with so much hope and faith in them but i have left in utter shock, disappointment, hurt and alot of wasted money. I will no longer be going in for laser as well.
I was in Vangate Mall and the service there is terrible. They have an entire clothing section but refused to do a return for my baby’s girl mom jeans because they didn’t know if they had the item in store and if they didn’t then they couldn’t take the Jean because they “would be stuck with it” I will now have to take it to where I purchased it. They were lazy to even check to a point where I myself said I’ll take it back to Canal Walk. The lady at the Customer Service counter was very unhelpful. I’m so disappointed and would not return to any of their stores. Service is everything and Pick n Pay in general is really getting horrible with theirs.
Absolutely appalled that at Seattle Coffee Regent Road. We went to the shop at 5.40pm on Saturday 20/05/23 and they refused to sell us coffee saying that they have already cashed up! But they close at 6pm. Disappointed in the service and company.
I have previously writhen a complaint againsto Bonitas and I have yet to complain still. First they have incompatent staff that argue with you and insist on being right. Staff that don't always know what they are selling to their clients and placing their clients in a future mess. My husband and I took out a medical aid with bonitas because I have been diagnosed with pcos. When I had waitEd my 3 months period I called in to get authorisation to visit a gynaecologist. They then tell me it isn't a medical aid but a hospital plan. I wanted to cancel. I went to the walk in branch in Durban upon where I was shouted at by staff saying that I need to know what option im taking out whereas I tried to explain that Bonitas Bon Essential plan was said to me to be a medical aid and sold to us as such and they should pull call records because that is specifically bad work ethic. I couldn't cancel because they wouldn't release my already paid installments and I didn't use the plan at all at that time. I then decided to keep it because the staff reinterate and assured me it can be used as a medical aid aso it has all the same perks. I am being advised as such please remember. So I recently started to get pains in my womb and I had to go to a gynecologist at a hospetal thinking I can do this as I had been adviser. I had paid a cash fee of R2000 and submitted it to claims. I then get a call that I must first phone and get authorisation to use the plan which is absolutely shocking to me as I can distinctly remember them advising me otherwise! The pamphlet of information they offer isn't up to standards as what it says they offer and why they are offering me now is complete bull! I am so frustrated. My health is in direct need of attention and I can't afford it. If I need an operation I need a coat cover and I cancel i lose over 50 grand. They sending me back and forth with information. They are making it hard to live as an average man in sa. We have to pay a fee for hospital plan and a fee for every specialist visit we do whereas others medical aids offer you coverage for your visit. I donot want to take it further but I am willing to speak to lawyers just to teach to hem that people's lives matter and I don't get that from bonitas. I wouldn't advise anyone to take any plans or medical aids from them as they will just make your medical life a misery and give you complete arrogance to deal with and ruin your days. Please just don't get involved with this company. I regret trusting them with my health.
When my husband and I decided to take out a medical aid, we opted to go with bonitas as they seemed to have on offer good deals. So we called in and the first problem was then, when a consultant missed guided us and told us that the Bon Essential plan was a medical aid. Upon enquiring the procedure of gp and specialists visit approval, the staff of call centre then tell us that we are not on a medical aid but on a hospital plan and we can't change unless we upgrade to a more expensive plan. The attitude towards us was unhelpful. The walk in centres in Musgrave durban were just as unhelpful and rude. We cannot cancel and get our money back as we never used the plan up until then. With no other option but to concur, we tried to do a claim for a gynae visit which was declined because they needed a motivation as to why we visited the doctor however we did state in the beginning of the process that we specifically need a medical aid for the luxury of getting good doctors under a medical aid. This doesn't make sense to me. I am so upset. I can't get any treatment done. They refuse to give me back my money or be helpful and kind on calls. They refuse to pull calls and rectify their employees faults. This is so depressing and unacceptable. I have to pay a fee for the hospital plan and extra for doctor visits at a hospital. I am so frustrated. I have been with Discovery before and this never happened. Bonitas is so unprofessional and a year after this hospital plan I'm still suffering medical issues I've had before so this is an actual waste of time. Please do not use this service.
