Cheapest I could find - code was delivered quickly
Thursday night, i desperately needed tickets for the next morning to Cape Town for 2 for 2 colleagues. Flights were very difficult to find but I finally found tickets, albeit with the most terrible airline in the country, Mango, with whom I personally would never fly. Immediately after booking, at around 22:30, i realized I had booked for the following Friday and there were no available flights for the correct date. Mango's call centre was closed so first thing in the morning, I dialed and thats where the fun began. When calling the refund department, you can sit, waiting, listening to the most terrible repetitive music for an hour before finally being put through to the wrong department. They then put me on hold for another 15 mins til I spoke to refunds. I explained the situation but was told that their terms do not accommodate for customer errors. Surely there is something in the Consumer protection act that protects against this? I understand that an admin fee could be necessary but to not allow for cancellation at all?? And the moment you try make changes to the booking to try salvage some funds (as i dont need the flights), the fees associated with changing the names of passengers, dates etc add up to thousands of rands, effectively doubling the original price paid. It appears they do not have any decency, as evident from the amount of passengers they stuff into their planes.
