I have an urgent issue that needs to be resolved, and I am experiencing the following problems 1. I am unable to contact Old Mutual by telephone. I have called on numerous occasions and have had to wait for more than 20 minutes each time without being assisted by a consultant, and in the end, I had to disconnect the call. This is a waste of my money and time. 2. My main concern is that I have received a missed premium notification and wish to pay the outstanding premium. While waiting on the phone there was an automated message stating that missed premiums and personal details can be updated via the APP. 3. However, when I access the app and attempt to do this, I receive a message stating, "So far so good, You dont have any outstanding premiums." This suggests that the app has not been updated. What is the purpose of having an app that does not work correctly ? 4. I also have another serious concern. on 23/04/2026, I received an SMS stating that my request would be attended to shortly, under reference CEA260458166. I did not submit any request to Old Mutual. I then received an email asking for documentation relating to my request. I rep**** by stating that I had not made any request, and I am still awaiting a response, as I am concerned about who submitted that request.
I would have rated this company -10000000 if that was possible. I have 8 greenlight life policies with oldmutual which was taken on 12/09/2005. The premiums were being diligently paid without once being in arrears. In June 2023 a request was made to change the bank details for 2 of the policies. The one was changed correctly and the other change was made to another of my policies instead of what was requested. This was done via the web portal and I have proof of the request. Confirmation was given by old mutual that the premiums would be going of at the end of September 2023. Unknown to me was that the premiums that were being deducted were for the incorrect policiy and because they made a mistake and changed the bank details of the incorrect policy thus causing the policy which the bank details were supposed to be changed to lapse. I received an sms in february stating that I should contact them to reinstate the policy. Ever since February I have been trying to get it reinstated and was requested to do numerous medicals which eventually after the medicals they terminated the policy. I should never have been requested to do a medical because it was an administrative error made by the old mutual staff and they should correct it. To top it all they did not pay the cost of the medical which its clearly stated on the form that it must be sent to them for payment and the telephone number on the form does not exist 021 509 3038. I followed the proper channels and complained to the complaints department and the response I got was about sending in documents for the medicals which was sent on numerous occasions to them. I eventually sent my complaint to the arbitrator and still waiting for a response from them . I then sent my complaint to the ombudsman and they also haven't responded. I have lost about R90000 in premiums since 2005 due the policy being terminated. It seems the only option I now have is to take legal action against old mutual to get this policy reinstated. Order number 19825 ordered in January 2022 and still not received. Numerous emails sent but reply is the same. On delivery. Suspect it's a scam. Keep away from this company
i ordered a pair of night driving glasses on 21/09/2017 and as per their advert it was supposed to be delivered within 20 days. as of today (14/12/2017) i have not received it. i sent an email to ********** which is their contact details on 28/10/2017 and didnt receive a reply. i suspect that this is a scam and noone should get defrauded of their money from this company.
