On 22 December 2025, I was referred to Kenneth Shalang of DLOVUKAZI TRADING 38 (PTY) LTD for the purchase of a 40ft shipping container by Highveld Containers. Kenneth issued an invoice and payment (R18 000) was made accordingly. Shortly thereafter, I received an email from Vivekan Logistics requesting an additional payment of R12,920.00, citing that the container did not have road tax and insurance and that this was a compulsory refundable charge. I was then issued a further invoice for storage fees (R7 000). Despite repeated assurances from Kenneth Shalang that he is “looking into the matter,” no resolution has been forthcoming. Accordingly, I will have to report the case to the South African Police Service (SAPS), Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC) and will also escalate the matter to the National Consumer Commission (NCC). You are strongly cautioned not to do business with Kenneth Shalang from DLOVUKAZI TRADING 38 (PTY) LTD ; Vivekan Logistics & Highveld Container. This information will be shared on social media.

WARNING NOT TO MAKE USE OF @COMPUCCTV CAMERAS (they advertise on marketplace). I share my experience in the interest of avoiding these people ****ming more potential customers. We decided to use them after receiving photos and videos of installations they’ve done. A very big mistake as this installation turned into a nightmare. After the 3rd attempt we gave up on them. They are clowns! They do not have the correct tools to do the job. They arrive with a hammer drill only. Meaning they were unable to drill holes into our steel poles which resulted in them having to make use of our tools. They also did not have the ability to drill a hole into our knotty pine ceilings, so once again we had to supply them with tools. They also state that they do neat jobs. An absolute lie! We had to close the elbows on the PVC pipes installed ourselves as they were unable to. We had to replace their HDMI cables with braided cable which is a good quality cable after one of their HDMI cables broke when it was pulled from the back of the monitor. To make matters worse, they used network cable instead of the correct camera cable which does not supply enough power to the cameras when there is a change in weather as the copper is too thin resulting in constant flickering. They've also cut the cables at the DVR and power supply too short resulting in you being unable to move it for cleaning purposes. They also stripped the outer insulation off the small wires and left it all untidy and exposed. The black poles that they advertise with the round solar lights was also not manufactured by them, but by ourselves. The power supply that they installed makes a huge noise with the fan running constantly. We didn’t have this problem with our previous power supply. They advertise a 6-month warranty which means absolutely nothing! They leave you with a system that doesn’t work and run off with the money. I highly recommend using reputable installers with good references. Rather pay a bit more and receive a good quality installation and product.
I requested a quote on 20 February to have a 12000Btu Alaska inverter air conditioner installed. I received the quote on 21 February, which was great. I've been trying to confirm installation of this unit ever since. Today (26 February) I receive an e-mail from Xtreme Thermo Systems (Pty) Ltd that they can assist with my water problem on the 1st of March 2024. I rep**** and enquired on what water problem they are referring to. After not getting a reply from them, I forward an sms message to 084 600 0004 to which I received a reply "I don't know, reply back to the email you received so we can assist". Next minute I get a phone call from this number. I was informed that they are not plumbers....my gosh.... I know that! The person I spoke to had absolutely no idea what e-mail I was referring to. I then forward them an e-mail cancelling my request as it is clear that this installation is (1) either not going to happen or (2) it is going to turn into a disaster. Well, to my surprise I get an e-mail stating " Please accept our sincere apologies. We have been receiving tons of emails and enquiries and I think we had you mixed up with other client. If there is anything we can help with please let us know". Warning! getting the quote is no problem. Booking an installation date is impossible! Getting your job mixed up with someone else's job is a definite! Try phoning the landline number provided on the quote....good luck...nobody answers the phone. I won't recommend using Xtreme Thermo Systems (Pty) Ltd. You will be disappointed, guaranteed! You will be beyond frustrated.... Rather look for reputable installers that go the extra mile and provide good customer service. Especially after sales service. It's not like you pay R500 for an air conditioner!
A big thank you to Werne and his team for rendering excellent, professional service & keeping me informed on the status of my project from day one. I've never dealt with a contractor that takes so much pride in his work. If you are looking for a contractor with INTEGRITY then Werne is your guy! Renewed respect for a contractor like Werne. Will definitely use Proformance Projects (Werne & his team) for all future projects.
We decided to use Werne again, what a big mistake! Poor quality job. Very disappointed. Ceiling installation that was suppose to take one day, now turned into over a week! WERNE HASN'T BEEN TOO SITE ONCE!. Always too busy with his "big" jobs to take calls or answer messages. I was told that Edwin (supervisor) will be on site on the first day when the job commenced. To my surprise Edwin delivered two boxes ceiling panels and left to fetch more material. After 11 o'clock on the day two installers returned and Edwin were no where to be found. No scaffolding (which I was quoted for). We as the customer had to supply them with a ladder. Edwin did not return on the day and half of the ceiling panels had to be taken down later that evening due to one box being the incorrect colour and design. Do take note that we as the customer had to point out the colour and design difference...NOT THE INSTALLERS! Werne advised on the Saturday evening that they will return on the Sunday to complete the job. This didn't happen as he blamed the supplier for not having the correct material available. They returned the Monday late afternoon to complete the job (almost dark). We were left with a mess that evening. Ceiling panels are still not the same design and the cornices have huge gaps; it is pulling away from the walls and the ceiling. These gaps increased as the week progressed. I paid R11 500 deposit for a poor quality incomplete job. Werne informed us on Wednesday that he will require another R1 800 to fix the mess. Are you serious? I have to pay so you can fix your mess??? I won't recommend using Proformance Projects for any ceiling installations. Refer to the attached photos of the job you will be left with. We now have to get another contractor to rectify this mess! Thanks for nothing Werne! I won't use you ever again! I guarantee you that!
SCAM ALERT!! Found this interesting explanation with regard to this scam on Google by Ahmed Kaje. Ahmed Kaje explained the Business / SCAM model of We Build Property T/A Reliable Store Reliable Store in detail: "Note that Reliable Store is enabled by PayFast. Payfast is their 3rd Party credit card payment gateway service – Payfast is legally responsible to ensure consumers are protected. If you have been scammed by Reliable Store request a refund directly from Payfast as PayFast are governed by Financial Services Authority and have an obligation to ensure that their systems are not used fraudulently, which it is in this case. Reliable Store Modus-Operandi explained below: 1. We Build Property T/A Reliable Store promotes products and services for which they have no intention of delivering – despite stating that their delivery timeframe is 15 days. 2. Their “Business / Scam Model” is based on delaying tactics to frustrate customers into cancelling an order to get the 35% cancellation fee, which is likely more than their profit margins anyways. This modus-operandi is supported by inaccessible contact details, and evasive communications. a. They are not accessible via telephone numbers specified, allowing it to be on hold endlessness only to eventually get cut off; b. Customers are left with no resort but to email them, to which responses are only made at most twice a week, with generic responses; c. These delaying tactics goes into weeks and months, conveniently allowing certain consumer refunds and statute policies to lapse. 3. In order to maintain a front of legitimacy with banks and the consumer, We Build Property T/A as Reliable Store will on occasion dispatch goods in order to obtain a POD i.e. Proof of Delivery. a. Goods delivered to customers by them are incorrect or partial orders, however the POD’s do not contain the actual product details except for the fact that the client signed for “goods”. These POD’s are then used to justify to the customer that delivery was made when it fact it was erroneously made with incorrect products on purpose. 4. This leads to frustrated customers who finally request a “Refund” that We Build Property T/A Reliable Store has been delaying them for to get to this point. a. We Build Property T/A Reliable Store then request a cancellation fee of up to 35% and may also justify it on the basis of: i. Customers signing and / or receipt of incorrect goods, or ii. The fact that the customer is now unwilling to wait indefinitely - well past the 15 day SLA for delivery; iii. Or that the goods have been “shipped”, which is proven by them through a tracking number from aboard (China) that actually doesn’t work; iv. They subsequently pay over to the exhausted customer the refunded balance (65%) directly – thus leaving 3rd party providers such as yourselves out of the loop. v. They make up to 35% of total order value through this scam resulting in customers losing considerable money" Thank you Ahmed Kaje. Only saw your explanation after I got scammed by We Build Property T/A Reliable Store. Ahmed Kaje have logged formal complaints with several parties i.e. FSCA, CGSO and banks.
WARNING! Be careful when ordering online from Pick n Pay Clothing! You will not get your package and you will not receive any assistance from customer services as their number (087 223 3203) doesn't work! Complaint: online order 000107312 Placed an online order on 7 October; however I was notified that my parcel was lost/stolen by the courier company (Courier Ninya/Fast & Furious Distribution) on 24 October. I've logged two tickets #549578 & 547283 and both tickets were marked as closed. The Pick n Pay Clothing customer services agents, Zakiera Mahatey & Adrian Louw are beyond useless! All I asked was to refund the R764.98....this now seems impossible. I will however never place an online order again and neither should YOU! #picknpayclothing #PicknPay #customerservice #customerfeedback#courierninja #fastnfuriousdistribution
Beware when using Mighty Maintenance (Mighty Team) in Alberton. They subcontract for Fix24! They are unreliable! GUARANTEED. Reading the other reviews on Fix24, I came to realize that I'm not the only person scammed out of an access when two valves were replaced by Mighty Maintenance almost a week after I logged a claim (CL4387137_3 March 2022) with SA Home Loans. This geyser is still out of order. I have to keep the geyser switched off as it trips the electricity. Ceiling still wet. Mighty Maintenance informed me that the insurance (SA Home Loans) doesn't cover the cost for cracked or broken geyser drip trays. Fix24's subcontractor (Mighty Maintenance) is just as unreliable and dishonest as they are. BEWARE when using these contractors as they will cost you more money and get substandard work. They are unable to solve a problem the first time. They do a quick fix knowing that they have to return…..more money for them. No wonder you pay a fortune for insurance!
Think twice before taking up insurance with SA Homeloans! They are unreliable and dishonest. Should you not fit into their customer demographic you can forget to get any service from them. Reading the other reviews, I came to realize that I'm not the only person who got scammed out of an access when two valves were replaced by their middleman FIX24 almost a week after I logged a claim (CL4387137_3 March 2022). This geyser is still out of order. When you follow up with the SA Homeloans "geyser anatomy specialist" (Shalin Gilbert) she feeds you lies and BS! I have to keep the geyser switched off as it trips the electricity. Ceiling still wet . Fix24 used a subcontractor (Mighty Maintenance) in Alberton who is just as unreliable and dishonest as they are. BEWARE! Don't allow these contractors on site as they will cost you more money due to substandard work. They are unable to solve a problem the first time. They do a quick fix knowing that they have to return…..more money for them. No wonder you pay a fortune for insurance!
