I called this company in to give me a quote for fixing my water pressure pump which was not working. They reported that the fault was in the DB box that has old circuit breakers and in the fluctuating power supply from Eskom. I already had Phase Failure units installed which stop power going to the pump if it is either 10% above or below the norm thereby protecting the pump. The solution proposed by Elite Energy was to replace all the circuit breakers in my DB box at a cost of R15 000 and to re-wire the pump at a cost of R8 000. I accepted the quote assuming that this would solve all future problems. They reinstalled the DB box and brought the pump back within about three weeks (normally my pumps are rewired in two to three days). When they installed the pump it was leaking water but they claimed it would `settle over time'. The pump worked for two days and then stopped working. I installed my spare pump which has now been working for three months without a problem. When Elite Energy came back to check the pump they reported that it had blown again and would need to be rewired again. They blamed the unstable electricity. I pointed out that they had replaced all the circuit breakers in the DB box at a significant cost to remedy the problem and the phase failure units were still in place and working. My replacement pump had at this working without problems for two weeks with the same electricity supply. This was December. When I first published my complaints on Hello Peter it was March 5 2022. I had been trying to get Elite Energy to either rewire the pump or return the R8 000 that I had paid for the rewiring for almost three months. My phone calls were either ignored or I was promised that the pump would be returned the next day. After five or six such attempts I gave up and posted my comments on Hello Peter and copied them to one of the owners of Elite Energy. My pump was returned to me the next working day (7th March). I then sent the pump to another Electrical company for diagnosis and rewiring. The report came back that the mechanical seal had not been replaced; the bearings had not been replaced and that the motor overloaded as it had been incorrectly wound. I paid another R8 500 to have all of this corrected. Elite Energy refused to take responsibility for the incorrect winding and not having replaced key components of the pump. I spent R23 000 with Elite and have very little to show for it. In addition I had to send the pump out to be rewired again. Let the buyer beware.
I called this company in to give me a quote for fixing my pressure pump which was not working. They claim to have found problems in the DB box so quoted to re-install a new box at a cost of R15 000. The pump was taken away for re-wiring as it had supposedly burnt out. When George came back to check the pump he said it had blown again and would need to be rewired again. I indicated that this was unacceptable as my spare pump had at that stage been working without problems for two weeks. This was December. George took the pump back to the company that re-wired it and has not returned the pump to date (March 2022). I have phoned him repeatedly and he keeps promising to bring it back but never does. I have phoned Chris and he does not answer my calls. They have been sitting on my pump since December. This is not a company to deal with.
Damien Newman is basically a conman. He worked for my landscaping business for 6 months during which time he offered clients unauthorized cash discounts, ostensibly on behalf of the business, as long as they paid him in cash and then he pocketed the money. He was able to keep this scam running for three to four months by pretending the jobs were ongoing. Once our accounts department started following up on unpaid accounts, he immediately resigned to avoid being fired. Once he left and we started contacting all his clients we found multiple cases of shoddy work and sloppy finishing which had to be redone. I strongly advise all members of the public, landscaping companies and Nurseries to be very careful when dealing with him.
This is not a business to deal with. I ordered over 3000 square meters of grass from them. The first load came in pieces. It was in shocking condition. I called the owner MItch who said ` just add water and it will come right'. When I laid the pieces down I found that instead of delivering 400 square meters they had delivered 270 square meters. I complained and Mitch promised to send more with the next load. The next load was also short. By the time the third load came I had 630 square meters instead of 1 200. I stopped paying and demanded that Mitch make up the balance of the lawn that was short. His response was that the lawn could have been stolen by my staff which was laying the lawn down. He has repeatedly refused to come out to the site on which I was laying the grass to see for himself what was laid out on the ground. I pointed out to Mitch that the site is a development site which has 24 hour security. He still insisted that he had loaded more than the required amount and has consistently refused to either make up the shortfall or repay the money. This is not a company to deal with.
