STAY AWAY! On the 7th of July 2025, I paid Mike a R37,516.50 deposit to install a pergola and adjustable louvre system. After months of multiple postponements and second chances, I eventually gave him a final opportunity. Please note that one of the postponement reasons was due to his installer being arrested the night before the rescheduled installation. On 27 October (almost 4 months later), I gave him a final opportunity to complete the installation or provide a full refund. He agreed to provide a refund. He subsequently asked for additional time and proposed a three-part payment plan totaling R30,000, which I accepted in good faith, as I just wanted to move on. He selected his own repayment dates, which he AGAIN failed to honour. On the 26th of November (almost 5 months later), I then sent him a letter of demand for the full amount. On the 3rd of December, his lawyer contacted me and again agreed/guaranteed payment by the 12th of December. This again did not happen. The lawyer subsequently decided to no longer represent him. I then started posting reviews, as I would like to stop others from burning their fingers and losing money. In the process, a few other people have reached out saying that the same thing has happened to them. On the 17th of December (almost 6 months later), Mike’s father’s lawyers or auditors guaranteed payment by the end of February via email. This did not happen. We are now in April (over 9 months later) and still have not received a cent of our R37,000. He has also managed to get all other bad reviews removed off of his page. All I can do now is warn others. P.S. I have documented proof of everything that has happened and I am happy to show it to anyone who would like to see it.
I have never dealt with a business who's customer service is worse than Virgin active!!!!! Honestly I CAN NOT WAIT TO HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH VIRGIN ACTIVE ! I have been charged membership since September and never offered to have my membership frozen during second wave of the Corona virus where my girlfriend, her mom and myself contracted the virus (I live with them). I have not been to gym once since before lockdown because I have been in isolation for most of this period. I have had to call them since the beginning of January constantly promised to make a plan and then call me back! I have been promised this 6 times by 6 different people. The latest being Tasrique Bowers, some sort of customer service manager. He promised me to call me back on monday, but tipically, no response! I have sent emails and no one has responded! This has been a full month of contacting Virgin Active !I am not a person who writes bad reviews but I have been pushed to this point! DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DONT JOIN VIRGIN ACTIVE!!!
Theres nothing else like it this side of the world. Very The****utic. I love their new venue. The things that i painted only took 2 weeks to be ready and came out really cool. Use my coffee mug everyday. Lots of fun!!!
