I am absolutely disgusted at ktm South Africa. I bought a brand new KTM Duke 390 (2019). Its only had 1 service and has as little as 4500km on the odometer. On the 19th of December 2019, my bike went in for repairs, due to a manufacturing fault / incorrectly serviced parts (serviced by ktm themselves) I have been patient enough, to wait it out until today (17 January 2020). Ktm cape Town have just informed me, that not all of the parts have arrived and have told me I will now need to wait, until 12 February 2020. There has been a battle with KTM cape Town, to lend me a Courtesy vehicle, so that I could still commute to and from work. I Advise that you do not invest in a ktm, as they seem to not keep any spares within the country. Please ask yourself. What big name branded vehicle, with what is supposed to be, a strong reputation, would not keep Any spares within arms reach. I have spent R83000 on a brand new vehicle. I have owned it for 3 months. I've been able to ride it for as little as 1.5 months. DON NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. Rather buy another brand, that can have your bike up and running (within a week), if something had to go wrong. I hope that sharing this experience with you, has helped you make up your mind, of where not to shop.
