What an absolute joke of a business. My Fiance' and I cancelled our TELKOM account in Jan 2020 after it was expected to expire in February 2020. We paid the Feb monthly fee and even went into the Musgrave Branch in Durban to confirm everything was in order. We have a signed letter confirming the account has been closed. To date (May-2020) we are still getting debited and it is costing us R60 every time to revers the debit order. We have called the TELKOM helpline which is useless because it rings for 3 hours without anyone picking up. Even now they are still debiting us, yet when you phone the help line they tell you they are no longer operating until the COVID 19 lockdown is lifted (ARE YOU SERIOUS!!) We have been more than patient with TELKOM, even after receiving threatening SMS's that we will be blacklisted for an error that is due to TELKOM's lack of ability to manage a simple account closure. We have reported this matter to our bank's fraud department and they have taken this up with some apparent legal body that will pursue a penalty fine on TELKOM because of the continuous harassment. I WISH I HAD NEVER OPENED AN ACCOUNT WITH THESE MOBSTERS. THERE ARE SO MANY OTHER BETTER COMPANIES IN RSA JUST GOOGLE THEM...
