Faith Chasara from Malls Tiles in Paarden Eiland, Cape Town, needs to be commended on the handling of my problem after buying tiles at the branch where she is floor manager. After buying tiles to the value of R7000+ for the cottage I am renovating just outside Bredaarsdorp, 213 kms away from Cape Town, I hit a snag in that transporting the tiles all that way would cost a fortune. Faith tried to help in that regard but it still worked out too expensive. I requested a refund on the already bought tiles and Faith went about my request with understanding and compassion. Needless to say, I received the refund into my account two days later.
This review is more for Equine-Librium, a Veterinary Physiothe****** clinic that was referred to me by the Panorama specialist centre. The doctors, nurses and staff at Panorama were excellent in the handling of my dog Romy who had cruciate surgery on her left hind leg. But Romy's recovery has been remarkable, mostly due to the great treatment by physiothe******, Monica Esterhuizen at Equine-Librium Veterinary Physiothe******s (next door to Panorama Veterinary Clinic and Specialist Centre). Her understanding of a dog's anatomy, her gentle approach to handling Romy, and her astute knowledge of how to nurse the strength and muscle back into Romy's leg, has been admirable. Her climbing into the Hyrdo-therapy tank with Romy was an amazing thing to watch. I highly recommend these services: Panorama Veterinary Clinic & Specialist Centre, and Equine-Librium Clinic in Cape Town.
On two occasions I've used Fixitt. One for repair and service of my oven/stove, and second to repair my washing machine. This company is professional to the extreme. Their service is great to the degree that they cannot be faulted. Their technicians know their job well. They are courteous and thorough with everything they do. They also clean up magically once they have completed the job. They certainly deliver on their promise, "We subscribe to accountability". This time it was Gavin and Massah who came to do the job. Pleasant and efficient. On my recommendation, Fixitt came to my mother's rescue by fixing her oven door that wouldn't close. No problem is too big with them. All fixed… with a smile.
Pet insurance with Outsurance has always been a pleasant a simple process. Their assistants are courteous, kind and considerate. In the past there have been a few but this time it was Tshegofatso Hlanyane who came to my immediate assistance and got the job done effectively and quickly. Fantastic. I thank you all at Outsurance.
PicknPay Melkbosstrand, in particular, is a problem. I have sent numerous complaints to head office via their email and none of them were returned except for the last one in which they got the manager of the branch to call me to help address the issue that I, and many others in the village, have with this branch. The problem: it is never fully stocked. By Wednesday the stock on shelves is in short supply. By Sunday there is virtually nothing on the shelves. I talk specifically of fresh produce. We are already in the holiday season which means shoppers would rather go to Woolworths (in the same building), OK (a short drive or walk away) or Checkers (a drive a few kilometres away). One of the managers called me by phone and tried to explain their problem about suppliers not having stock. He made all kinds of excuses on behalf of the company but this doesn't cut it for me. My guess is that they need to supply the shop with product at least a few times a week to keep the shelves full and customers happy, especially on a weekend. Vegetables, meat and chicken are specific items always in short supply. To add to frustration, their LowCarb products have been taken off the shelves, the manager claiming LowCarb is not in demand. I do know that there are many health fanatics and healthy eaters in Melkosstrand. PicknPay is becoming less popular because of these issues. Head Office needs to take cognisance.
Please note that the inverter trolley, RCT MegaPower T-1000W is not adequate to supply power during load shedding. The battery is not Lithium and there is not enough charge time to recharge the battery. My battery is now damaged and rendered useless. If only the supplier had briefed me before the purchase I might’ve considered other options. A few months after purchase and realising the battery’s inadequacy, one of the technicians at Computer Mania, head office Cape Town, suggested that I bought cheaply and that is the consequence! The person suggested that I could buy replacement battery at about R3000.00. Wow!
Firstly, payment of R964.00 for my DSTV account went off by debit order on 1st June 2020. Today my DSTV has been deactivated and I have been unsuccessful in reactivating it. Doing it via their dstv.com self help service, it says that my smart card number does not exist. Every phone call I have tried to make to them using my landline and my cellphone, cuts off somewhere within the period I'm waiting for a customer care person to speak to me. Secondly, I bought my DSTV explorer when it was on special at R899 for two years. This was in April 2019. Despite that they are still charging me a higher rate each month; in fact the amount is never the same each month. It's always morebthan the contract rate of R899.00. In the past I have spoken to them on the phone and they say they will fix it and credit me with what is due to me. The last call I made about my contract was on 29 May 2020 REF NUMBER: 18173896. I have had enough of their shoddy, uncaring service and need this sorted out immediately. Issue one: unblock my dstv; second issue: stop overcharging me on monthly rates.
