I ordered a take- away meal during lockdown for a collect order on the 16 July 2020. When I went to pick up the order at 16:42pm Kyle the waiter put the transaction through on my debit card. He did this twice is quick succession as it reflected as "declined" on the slip. I reassured him that there were funds available in my account. Then he said that he will try another machine and that went through and I received a sms confirmation from my bank for this. It was then that I also received an sms confirmation that the other 2 "declined" transactions were also deducted from my account. I pointed this out to Kyle who reassured me that my bank will reverse this. One was reversed almost immediately which I pointed out to Kyle. He said that the other will be reversed within 20-30 mins failing which I should call him. I took me take away home and called him a little later as I still had not been reimbursed. Kyle reassured me that it will be done with 24 Hours by my bank. After 2 days I went it to the Mamas restaurant and I spoke to Cherie the manager. I showed her the sms and by then I printed out my bank statement in order to show her the proof of deductions. Cherie said that she called the bank and that my transaction was not reflecting in their books and that I should ask my bank to refund my money. This did not make sense to me as Mamas deducted my monies. I contacted my bank who was going to charge my R 70 to reverse this transaction which I find quite ridiculous and frustrating. I approached Cherie again about this and she said that she was going to check on this and call me with a response. She has failed to do this!! Which I find extremely bad service and lack fo respect to a loyal customer of many years. Its going to be difficult but I refuse to support a business which fails to treat their loyal customers with respect. I will pay the R 70 in order to get my money back...on principal.
