After receiving a quote for a carport on the 2nd July, I was requested to make a 60% deposit payment. This was made on the 3rd July. I was told the job would commence in the following week as they had to order the supplies. The following week on the 10th July, I followed up and was told the job would only commence in the next week. On the 16th, I again followed up, I again contacted Barry Woest and he then told me they had a "Covid" case and their workshop was shut down for 2 weeks. On the 22nd July I sent another WhatsApp asking when I can expect the job to commence. I was told only on the 28th. On the 30th July, I received a message telling me his whole sad story about his gearbox on his bakkie and he was waiting for the mechanic. The job would now only happen in the next week, on the 3rd August. By this time, I asked for a full refund and was sent many promises that the job would definitely take place on the 3rd August. Plenty empty promises and pleading and hence I received no refund. Lo and behold, they pitched up on the 3rd August. The poles were erected and after the day they said they would return on Wednesday after cement has dried. Wednesday came and went, nobody pitched. Barry then send me a laughing emoji telling me they had it wrong, they will only return Thursday. Again, Thursday came and at 10am I had to follow up again. Only this time to receive a story that his guys were on their way and got hijacked with all my materials on the rented trailer as the bakkie was again broken. On the 12th August, I followed up on the progress to complete my job. Now they were waiting for their supplier to grant extra credit to re-purchase my materials. On the 14th August, I requested the case number for the hijacking and copy of ID to open a case of theft and take these documents to my attorney as by now, there were so many stories I did not believe the hijacking occurred. On the 17th August I received a response that their credit was approved and they would see my on the Friday, 21st August. 20th August I received another message about their limit on their account awaiting approval once again. I again requested the case number. 21st came and went and nobody pitched. I once again requested the case number but this would not be sent to me. I got a message telling me to please not stress, he won't run away with my money. They will now be on site on the 24th August. Again, I asked for the case number. I was told he was busy in Standerton completing other jobs and when he gets to the workshop he will send it through. So other jobs in the meantime are completed whilst I wait almost 2 months for one small job to be done. His brother pitched up on the 24th and when leaving, I asked when I could expect them back. He told me the following day. Well again that was a big lie. That evening I received a very sarcastic message from Barry stating he believes they painted the structure and put on the sheeting so he hopes I feel better, i have received R12500 of my money back. Whilst the small piece they completed, was probably only around R5000 for the supplies. Next day, again, nobody pitched. I send another message to Barry and he told me they are painting the palisades I will expect them on Wednesday, 26th August. I was still requested the case number and ID. Barry told me he will come himself today, 26th August and bring me the documents that I can make copies. I await very eagerly to see if they pitch today or what the next story will be told as to why they cannot complete my work.
