It all seems promising until: 1a. You cannot really complete the diploma/course at your own time (or maybe I just haven't discovered how to increase my 2x video lectures a week into 4 or 6x per week). 1b. By "forcing" the students to complete only 2x classes per week (out of a total 32 classes for the diploma I am currently doing), it prevents students from only paying for one month. Instead, they "force" you to pay a monthly fee of R400 (x4 because it will take approximately 4 months to complete 32 classes). This is absurd as the videos are only 45 minutes each and I could certainly finish all 32 classes finished in less than a month, reducing the total cost significantly. 2. EVERYTHING is charged at an extra cost - the notes, the certificate itself, etc. 3. The amount of SMSes and emails I receive from Shaw Academy on a daily basis is almost spam-worthy. In fact, I received more than 12 SMSes (and certainly many more emails) in less than 48 hours. ARE THEY MAD? 4. Reading other reviews of students struggling to cancel their subscriptions and still being charged continuously makes me nervous. I am just fortunate that I won a four-week starter pack which did not require my banking details. PHEW!
From the moment I walked in to Kleinskys (18 Oct), the warm welcome made me certain I would enjoy my experience from start to finish. Their coffee is by far in the top percentage and their consistently perfect americano (which, trust me, has gone wrong at multiple other "coffee" restaurants) is a must-have with any one of their bagels or sandwiches. My personal favourites are: 1) the chicken mayo bagel, 2) Challah french toast, 3) the Reuben sandwich. Although I have not tried everything on the menu (yet), I have no doubt that my "top 3" could easily be filled with every meal!
A 0 star rating would have been my first choice as Medi(lack of)help do not even deserve 1 star. They will do everything in their power not to pay.
