Absolutely revolting! I bought 2 tins each of Pot O Gold Coconut Cream and Milk in January this year from Red Star Wholesale. I used the coconut cream in a mango tart – fresh mangoes, cream cheese, tennis biscuit base... the works! But the result? Disgusting. The tart tasted like someone poured OMO liquid detergent into the mix. I was convinced I’d made a mistake. The entire dessert – and all those good ingredients – straight into the bin. Still doubting myself, I later used the coconut milk in a savoury dish – chicken à la king with fresh chicken breast, spinach, mushrooms, and a variety of vegetables. Guess what? Same thing. It stank. The dish was inedible. I checked the expiry dates both times – clearly marked January 2026, so freshness shouldn’t have been an issue. It’s now clear the product itself is the problem. I wasted two home-cooked meals and a lot of time, effort, and money. Checkers, please – DO BETTER. This is unacceptable. Sies, man.
Their customer service is atrocious!!! My ccard expired, I did not update it in time. My bad! Did it 30 mins after I was notified, got a confirmation email. Yet, since 10 am yesterday 1/12/23 they have been flooding my inbox with the same repetitive email...Ccard payment returned. Every 30 mins the same email right through the night!! Called their customer service thrice, held on for close to 10 mins each time listening to sh¡t, eventually hung up. Tried their whatsapp chat...Ntabiseng struggles with scrolling up so I have to repeat myself... type mind, not a voice message... NOOO, because Ntabi takes approx 2 hours inbetween messages to get back to you. So I would assume she loses track of who, where and what. Tried from the app to do it myself.... pfffttt!! What a joke!! Shame in you Vox and your ****ty aftercare customer service!! Train your consultants!! ***.
Edgars accounts. Monthly club and service fees accumulated during lockdown amounting to R562.67. This including RSC's collection call fees and SMS fees for this outstanding amount. SMS fee - R3.22 / Call fee R23. Calls and sms’s of which I had numerous and I was being charged for them to call me to tell me my account is in ‘so called arrears’. By the end of December 2019 I was actually in credit on my account for the amount of R205. The next statement I received was May 2020, showing a credit of R4.14. Next statement July - amount due of R31.47 Next statement August - amount due R67.28. Next statement October - amount due R562.67 HOW???? When the calls started, not one call centre agent could tell me what the outstanding amount was for. It showed as a purchase on my account. But no-one could tell me what was bought or where it was bought. After I had spoken to about 7 different people, I figured out it was for their monthly club- and service fees as well as credit life insurance. I then went to their Tygervalley store to try and resolve this, where I was informed their accounts are now handled by RCS. Someone will call me back….yeah right! After I sent an email to them, subsequent correspondence from RCS has just been a standard letter without any resolve of the matter. I have not spent on this account for more than a year. I did not and could not use any of these so called club benefits, the whole world was on lockdown, does Covid-19 ring a bell, Edgars? I have in the past 2 month been inundated with phone calls (and charged for them), sms's (and charged for them) and I am now pretty desperate to get this matter resolved as it impacts my credit record and obviously no-one wants that. PLEASE could you assist in any way so that this issue with Edgars can be resolved. Any assistance, advice and feedback will be appreciated.
