Tyrone Oates is his name, the owner of Media Mob and Supratoken. We invested R350,000 to purchase TV screens for adverti*****ts in shopping centers in Cape Town and around the rest of the country, through Media Mob. This was never implemented, the value was then "switched" to Supratokens. No annuity of investor refund was done despite years of chasing since 2018.
I decided to move across from Axxess to Mweb due to poor pricing and line speed issues. When I moved over I was informed of a free two month offer however in order to get this deal I had to move over at the same line speed instead of the 100 to 200mb line which I preferred. I nevertheless agreed and I was told to call through mid-January 2021 to upgrade. During the initial two months the line speed and line drops were 200% worse than that of Axxess. When I called through on the 15th saying I wanted to now upgrade to the line speed which I wanted in the first place the sales agent said I had to purchase a new router as the one I was issued was not suitable for the upgraded line speed. At this point I refused, mentioning that the 100 to 200mb line speed was the one I wanted from the outset. The initial router issued on the 20mb line was still boxed, I told MWEB to process the upgrade, issue the new router for the new line speed, and simply collect the initial router. I was informed at this point that the call needed to go through to the complaints and escalations team to listen to the original recording to see what was said. I duly complied assuming this was a quick process. I called back days later only to be moved from department to department (even accounts) to no avail and no resolution. I called a few days later again and asked to speak to the complaints and escalations team only to be told that they do not take calls. It is now the afternoon of the 26th January and I still have no answers and no resolution. I find it bizarre that they would waste so much time for an upgrade which is more money for them, and dodge any degree of common sense which should have resolved this matter on the first call. I am now left debating whether Mweb should have my business at all.
