I paid upfront via eft R1850 to He & She driving school for 10 lessons for my daughter to take driving lessons with their instructor Sebastian. He collected my daughter and starting teaching her how to drive. After about 7-8 lessons (no feedback to parent) i asked my daughter what he was teaching her and what she had done so far. The answer was she was just driving. She was not being trained how to do parking or reversing but just driving. When i phone Sebastian to enquire what he was teaching my daughter, he said to me that my daughter can drive but that he cannot take her to the yard to learn any parking or reversing till she had met he & She requirements. I then called the office of He & She and laid a complaint that after 10 lessons (almost R2k later) my daughter still was not receiving the training that I paid for and that I felt robbed. I wanted to be refunded as i did not believe that they provided the services that I paid for. Their response was that they had got the driving report from the instructor and that she received the necessary training. They also wanted another instructor to assess my daughter but at that point I felt that I did not want to pay another R2k to them to get her to drive as they did not want to refund me and also because i would have to pay a lot more than this to them. I have paid another R2k to another driving school to assist my daughter to get her licence and she is passing out. On her second lesson she was taught reversing and parking. They are a complete ripoff. I really thought they were a big company and that they would be able to provide the service but i was wrong and felt let down.
I rented an apartment in Century City from Seeff Century City in January 2020. I rented for a year and paid my rent for the full year upfront to Seeff together with 2 months deposit that I had to provide which was the requirement to rent the apartment. After the year period, I rented for an additional month and gave notice at the end of February. I had paid for painting of wall and additional cleaning which was required. I was then advised that I could not be refunded my deposit as the landlord had to make the final call (even though I had paid the deposit to Seeff). Their relationship with the landlord was placed above my relationship as the tenant with Seeff and I was at the mercy of the landlord to refund my deposit. My deposit was only returned to me after the father of the landlord had to review the property almost 2 weeks after I vacated the premises (even though Seeff had confirmed that I had left the property in a satisfactory state), but they could not release the deposit till the landlord gave the final okay. I was also referred by Seeff to my contract where they advised me that the landlord was well within his rights if additional repairs/maintenance was done that the landlord could take up to 14 days to refund my deposit. I was not treated as a customer and felt that Seeff was only concerned with the landlord of the property that they rent out on their behalf but I want to tell everyone about my bad experience so that you don't find yourself in a similar situation.
