No help from Labour department, not even response to my email

I have been trying to get help from labour department for weeks against my employer that keeps short paying me, and as a result I am busy being evicted, almost a month later and not even a response to my mails. This is pathetic honestly. These people are supposed to help us and protect us from employers doing this to employees, but they can't even be bothered enough to respond to emails?
