11 years ago i bought my kitchen cupboards from plaza boards (Cnr 16th Avenue & Dapper Street, Kensington, Cape Town). They took almost a month, then delivered the boards. Problem is every single board did not have edging. When we told the driver to stop unloading as there's no edging, his response was "maybe he wants to edge it himself". Since everything was 2mm impact edging and cost R3500 for edging only, this was a dumb response. 11 years later and sadly nothing has changed. Communication between sales and workers is shocking. Customers doesn't get informed boards are ready. Pieces is missing. Sales gives finished sizes, instead of cut sizes as though it's their first day on the job. You enter to collect and ask can someone assist to load the boards and an employee respond "it's not my job, ask someone else", then you walk around, find your boards and start checking, only to find 2 is correct, next board one side correct, other side 12mm too short, board missing that is on job card. Nearly R1400 for one colour chipboard with impact edging and soo many problems. Soon as i took out my measuring tape, the workshop manager started with an aggressive attitude. Yet didn't have an answer why a board is 12mm short, and boards missing. I didn't check futher, just packed it in myself and left, since i knew nothing will be fixed. Cherry on the cake is Adelah (sales lady) trying to tell me how my "measuring tape "hook" is loose so it will be out by 1mm". There's other companies that still exist after lock-down financial constraints, that doesn't have fancy equipment such as plaza boards, yet they don't make these mistakes. I will rather go to the dentist twice, than having to deal with this company again.
