Please help by retweeting and sharing my story of how ABSA Vehicle Finance repossessed my car without any legal documents and to this day has not shared an auction receipt to prove my car was sold. I purchase my vehicle in 2015 through ABSA financing and sadly was out of a job due to Covid and defaulted on payments but proceeded to make payment arrangements as I was to start working in July 2021 which did eventually take place. I was followed by two white guys while at a shopping complex till arrival at my gate, they showed a document from the bank with my personal details accompanied by an inspection form, but no legal warrant of execution from the courts. Well not wanting to fight it and just overwhelmed by the event I proceeded to inspect my car with these two white gentleman and took my personal belonging out of the car and signed the inspection sheet, was told by these guys that the bank would contact me. A few days later I called the bank as they were not saying anything, and I was told to come up with around 30k to get my car back, which I did not have. My car was eventually auctioned without my knowledge I saw this through my statement showing a large payment of 104k being made towards my account, which I assumed was the sale. Fastrack months down the line I called ABSA Vehicle Finance to hear what’s happening I was referred to their legal department which kept telling me I will be contacted. Many weeks later I see that I was handed over to a collection agency called VVM as I have an outstanding balance of 40k, I asked what am I supposed to pay for when I don’t have proof my car was sold. I requested VVM to ask ABSA Vehicle Finance to send me a warrant of execution, auction receipt and my contract and all I received was my contract. My question to ABSA Vehicle Finance is why they can’t show me that they were within their legal right to execute the repossession, show a receipt that my car was auctioned and for how much…I mean Fam I am a mother of two kids and yes I am no law expert but surely I have some type of right to request these documents and to know what happen to my car. Sadly I can’t afford legal representative as I would like to take ABSA Vehicle Finance to court, I don’t know if these guys who took my car were registered to do so, and as a young petite women corned by two bulky guys I could not afford to have my kids see their mom getting into a physical altercation at that moment this was happening. ABSA Vehicle Finance you took my car but now why do you not want to share the warrant of execution or auction receipt??? Please assist in advising if you know what legal steps I can take against ABSA Vehicle Finance or please retweet my story or post this on any social platform available. Banks are getting away with these type of actions and consumers are left crippled financially and with a bad credit score making it hard to gain back our financial freedom.
