Title: ****roach in Coffee & Fly in Drink – No Response from ***alle Management On 25 July 2025 at ***alle Restaurant, 57A Somerset Road, Green Point, I was served a coffee containing a ****roach, which I had already partially consumed before noticing. Shockingly, my son also found a fly in his drink right at the start of our meal. We immediately informed the staff, but their response was dismissive, and no action was taken to investigate or resolve the matter. My husband has since contacted the restaurant directly and sent three follow-up emails to management, but we have received no response from management. This is not only unacceptable but also a serious public health concern. The complete lack of accountability and customer care is appalling. I am lodging this review to warn other customers and to call on ***alle to take responsibility, issue a formal apology, and demonstrate that they are taking corrective action to ensure food safety and hygiene standards are met.
PnP shoppers are pickpocketed regularly because of poor security. On Wednesday 15 June 2022 I was pickpocketed in PnP Claremont shortly after 17:30 pm. My brand new iPhone 13 was pickpocketed/ stolen from my jacket pocket. (There is clear camera footage proof of the incident.) This is my experience to date: PnP management did not even bother to take my contact details when I reported it to them. To add insult to injury they confirmed pickpocketing was a regular occurrence in their store. The apathy and approach with regard to my incident is evidence that PnP totally abscond themselves and hence this is an ongoing problem. The customers that have suffered pickpocketing at PnP without camera footage are left hanging and their complaints are swept under the carpet and ignored. I reported what had happened to me to customer services on Friday 17 June but to date have still not received a response to my complaint. On 21 June I called customer care, nobody answered and I was directed to leave a voicemail. I also sent them an email and I still await a response, (I did get acknowledgment it was received.) According to the security manning the cameras, “the camera’s are only to be found by the expensive items aisles ”, indicating that PnP pays no attention to the safety and security of their shoppers throughout the store and only look in their own interest. The lack of security for their shoppers with a deeply flawed security system is definitely a matter that needs to be addressed and investigated as a matter of urgency. My experience highlights PnP’s blatant disregard for the right of their shoppers, “RIGHT TO SECURITY” Since my incident I now know many who have had the same experience at PnP but have not had any recourse because they did not have solid proof (camera footage) of their incident, fortunately mine was clearly captured on camera an hence I am taking this matter further. As a loyal customer who spends thousands of rands at PnP every month I would like to know, 1. how will I be compensated for my loss and the great inconvenience suffered (which comes with having a phone stolen), not to mention the trauma of being violated in a “safe space”. 2. I would further like to know how and when PnP stores are going to put in place proper security protocols/ measures to improve and the safety and security of their loyal customers.
