I have been a customer of Dis-Chem Health Insurance for approximately a year. While the cover is limited, it initially served its purpose. Until it didn’t. What is advertised and what is delivered appear to be two very different things. Doctors themselves have cautioned that, despite assurances of cover, payments are often not honoured when claims are submitted. Recently, I experienced financial difficulty and proactively contacted Dis-Chem Health Insurance to enquire whether a payment arrangement could be made. Their stated response time is 1–2 business days. I submitted a second enquiry to the correct email address on 20 January. Seven days later, instead of a response or assistance, I received a notification that my policy had been cancelled. No engagement. No discussion. Just cancellation. Very disappointing service, if I could give you minus 1 red star, I would. This is certainly not the support one expects from a health insurance provider. I will be sharing this experience openly so that others can make informed decisions.
Months ago requested to get my debit order date changed. Supersonic struggled for 2 months to get that right. I then changed my banking details, and again supersonic struggled to get that right. By then I was a month in arears because when they debited on the wrong date, I did not have enough money in my account. I contacted them to make arrangements and the following month, they only deducted one month. So I manually paid the money and we moved on. The following month, the same thing happened but theybsaid I was in arears with one month. I sent my proofs of payment again and again and got email confirmation that my account was up to date. But wait....there is more! This has now escallated where i was a month in arears again. I paid one month on 25 June, and informed them that I would pay the other once Inhave seen if they would deduct on 1 July, yesterday. And boy did they deduct! 4 months worth! I am now left with R15 in my account thanx to Supersonics math that isnt mathing. Supersonic, GET THIS RIGHT!!!!!
If there was a minus 100 start, I would click it, but today you get 1 star Debt Busters. You have managed to make such a mess of my account and I have lost thousands of rands because of you. Now I have to start from scratch. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you forgot to add into account that some of my debt had insurances attached to them? And now I am in arrears with those accounts because of it and they refuse to accept your terms. You made my installment R1400 more than what I had signed for because of this, yet the creditors are still harassing me with "final warnings" and letters of demand. You finally threw me under the bus this week by giving me 2 alternatives. Either I pay the arrears that has accrued since May 2023 to the creditor or remove the 2 accounts from that creditor from my debt review and pay them myself. Well, neither is acceptable to me Mr Debt Busters. You messed up and you are trying to hide the fact. Huge warning here, NEVER use Debt busters, they will play with your money!
I bought a box of Terbodore Coffee pods. 2 of the pods’ seals came off. I contacted Terbodore and not only did they respond within a day, the couriered a new box to my doorstep within a week, no questions asked. It even had a hand written note in the box. Now THAT is service! Terbodore, your service delivery is like your coffees….simply amazing! Thank you.
On 12 December 2022 I called in to have a Sim card blocked and a device blacklisted. Cell C IMMEDIATELY went ahead and did as I asked. Only, they blacklisted my other device connected to my Sim nr as well. When I realized my phone was out of service the same day, I phoned in to ask if they blacklisted the correct phone. To which I was told to do a Sim stop. Which I did. At my expense. That clearly didn't work so I was told to visit a cell shop. Which I did as well. They only provided a phone to call the call centre. Wow.... another simswop later I realized my Sim card worked in other devices and not in mine. So I Google a bit. Everything indicated that my phone was blocked. So I phoned in again and the person confirmed that my phone was indeed blocked. After numerous requests I finally got the unblocking form and off I trotted to the police station. Note, now we are in January 2023 already. Sent the docs back and received a case nr. I phoned to follow up and was told that 48 hours doesn't start when the case nr is created.... I had to send the docs AGAIN. ON 10 Jan I was told 2 working days. It is the 13th I still have no joy. The competence of cell c......today I was told that the matter has been resolved where in the meantime it hasn't. I was further informed to switch my phone off for 24 to 48 hours. How convenient that it's Friday? It has mow, for the umpteenth time been escalated. I am sick and tired of this. Cell C, will you refund my Nov airtime that won't roll over this month? Will you refund me my Sim stop money because you staff had no clue how to assist me properly? I'm 100% sure you won't. You don't care about your clients, only to take their hard earned money.
