All my deaf sister wants to know: "Did ABSA submit a claim against the only two life insurance policies for the outstanding bond amount?" My brother in law passed in September 2022 and the necessary information/documentation was handed to ABSA against signature to settle the outstanding bond amount from the two available life insurance policies. It seems that to date, ABSA did not submit a claim against those insurance policies. Upon assisting my sister (being deaf) and visiting a branch, ABSA Home Loans (Credit Dept?) did not want to speak to me because I am not the bond holder (understandable). They wanted to speak to my deaf sister over the phone. We were not even successful when an employee of ABSA tried to assist with our enquiry. ABSA Home Loans insisted to speak to my deaf sister. All we require ABSA to do is: "Submit the claims towards the two life insurance to settle and cancel the bond", so that my sister can get access to some money. Thank you to the ABSA employee at the branch who tried her utmost best to assist and explain the situation to the ABSA Home Loan colleague with no avail.
