After I published my story on hellopeter, Safe Base didn't respond, I gave them a call and I managed to speak to one of the consultant. I told them to stop the debit order and I sent them the letter from the bank, They advised me to wait 20 days then the debit order will be cancelled. It is cancelled now I don't have any issues anymore.
This company is debiting R169.00 from my account which I don't know what is it for because they are dealing with plumbing and I don't have any contract with them. I have a contract with On-Air TV, what surprising me is why my account number for On-Air TV looks the same as Safe Base, the only different is the last number at the end. I called my bank to stop this debit order they advised me to contact them directly because what they are doing is ***** by debiting without my concern. I called them 5 times today to explain what is this for, nobody is talking to me. Every time someone answers the call they put it down.
On the 30th of October 2025, I received a call from OnAir TV, the lady who gave me a call told me their calls are recorded for quality purpose. She offered a new decoder for DSTV Stream which doesn't need a dish to be connected. She told me the decoder has internet installed already inside which I have to pay only R189.00 every month. I explained to her my TV is not a Smart TV because I google this device it only work on Smart TV, Laptop, Tablet or Smart Phone, she told me when I connect this device to my TV it will automatically change my TV to Smart TV which she **** about it. I gave her all my details and she told me when they deliver they will contact me which they didn't. The next day on Friday the 31st a courier guy contacted me saying he's at my gate. I told him I'm at work, he asked my work address which I gave it to him and he delivered the package at work. When I get home I connected the device to my TV but was never connected as I was told. The TV screen keeps on saying no signal. I unplugged the device and put it back to the box, I contacted OnAir TV via email explained the situation I am experiencing and told them to cancel this contract and come and collect the device. They told me I must pay a fee of R200 if the box is still seelled if is open I must pay R400, if they don't receive the money they don't collect and I will still be responsible for paying contract. I told them I am not paying for something I don't use, it is their fault for lying to me by saying the device will change my screen automatically which never happened. To me I feel like this contract was given to me by fost, I didn't sign anything with them.
