Nightmare! Stay away.
What a terrible experience. We hired Johann Bekker for our wedding in October 2022. We paid fully upfront in December 2021 for the Diamond package. This included an engagement shoot, wedding photography and videography, a printed coffee table book, drone footage and a instax photo album and wedding website. Firstly, we booked our engagement shoot for May 2022. We arranged a place and time. Upon arrival, I had to call Johann to ask where he is. He only rep**** with a WhatsApp message saying he is on his way. He took 20 minutes to arrive as he forgot about us and only left home after I called. He was so unprepared. I should have canceled they wedding photography here, but already paid in full. At the wedding he informed me on the day that he is immegrating and my wedding is his last shoot, therefore he doesn't have any other work and I will have all my things in 2 weeks. We received our instax book the night of, which was basically a black art book with about 12 photos in it. That's it. 2 weeks came and went and I started following up. I followed up at least once a week, sometimes more. He responded in January 2023 saying he will send it soon. This went on and on for months where I follow up every week via email as he changed his cellphone number. He responded o ly after I started asking on bridal groups on Facebook about him. Then he would not reply to my email, but every time create a new email saying he has sent it. Or a different excuse that he hasn't received all the video footage from his second shooter. We eventually traced his second shooter and asked to send everything in August 2023. He informed us that he did send everything to Johann in January 2023 already. Again I made a Facebook post in bridal groups and the he rep**** saying he has sent us everything. Back and forth this went on for months again. In October 2023 (one YEAR after our wedding) still nothing. We then received a link to download all our stuff. When we saw what was loaded, it was all the unedited footage. No edited wedding video of short film like we paid for. We emailed many times again and eventually in November he said again he will send it now, he is just waiting on final footage from the second shooter. After about 2 more weeks, we received videos that is edited. This video is the such a joke. Some of the footage used, are in there twice right after each other that looks like glitches. There's a section of the video that is zoomed in on the place where someone would stand to make a toast, but there's no one. This all with music in playing, showing nothing but an empty stand. What a joke. Every time we ask for the list to be sent through so we can choose photos for the album that he still owes us and we have not received anything so the album is still outstanding today. I would not recommend this guy for any shoot. The photos on his website is primarily from other photographers like his second shooters. He now operates in Bromley, UK. There are so many other people that still has not received any of their pictures or videos, years later. Do not make the mistake of using him. He also got my previous review deleted and asks his friends to make all these positive reviews for him on here. Please do not believe any of these positive reviews. Carte Blancé even had a segment about him warning brides how he operates and about the fotos that is such bad quality. I received some edited photos of which 50% is the same photos, blurred, even a photo of just grass nothing else. I have nothing proper to show as a memory from our wedding and this will devastate me to the day I die. What an absolute nightmare. I wish I could rate less than a one star.

WORST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE!! *****!!!
****! *****! STAY FAR AWAY!! It's been over 9 months from our wedding and we still have not received ANY of our video footage or our album. We paid the full amount 10 months in advance. A few times we got an email saying he will send it soon. But nothing ever gets sent. Then he blames the second photoprapher for not sending the footage to him. We will probably never get our things. He forgot about our engagement shoot and I had to call him from the venue to ask him to please come. He does not edit any photos or take the flops out. Part of our number of photos included pictures of the grass and blurred photos just to make up for the number of photos he promised. His package included Drone footage - we received SIX drone images. 2 sets of the same 3 photos. He emigrated and ghosted us and we will now never get our precious wedding footage. Absolutely heartbroken by this *****. DO NOT USE HIM FOR ANY SPECIAL OCCASION PHOTOS. Search #johannbekker on Facebook for proof. All these positive reviews are ****. He asks his friends and second photographers to give the good ratings so that the bad ratings can move down.
