I am writing to express my disappointment with the professionalism of the call center agents at Discovery. After logging into my Discovery profile, I noticed that my claim was marked as paid for the amount of R795.90. However, upon checking my bank account, I could not find the payment. When I contacted Discovery to inquire about the payment, I was informed that the money had been sent to an old Nedbank account that I no longer use. I had updated my banking details with Discovery three years ago when I switched banks, and my current FNB banking details are correctly displayed in my Discovery profile. The first call center agent I spoke with (Call Reference - 895 606 953) instructed me to resolve the issue with the bank myself. I explained that the account no longer exists and requested that Discovery retrieve the money. The agent was unhelpful and suggested I cancel my cover if she could not assist me. I then asked to speak to her manager and was transferred to Thandiwe N****eni. Ms. N****eni indicated that she could retrieve the money from the bank but that Discovery would charge a fee of approximately R326, leaving me with the balance. I agreed to this and she proceeded to update my banking details while we were on the call. However, she was unsure of the steps to complete this process and suggested transferring me to another department. After being on the phone for over two hours, I refused to be passed on to a third person and insisted that Ms. N****eni complete the action of recalling the claim from the bank before transferring me. This experience has been extremely frustrating and unacceptable, especially considering the amount I pay for my cover. I request immediate feedback on this issue, as my banking details have not been updated and my claim has not been paid into my bank account.
South Africa, I want everyone to be on the lookout for a white male he goes by the name Mike Ellis, he calls himself a property agent. He is a *****. First, he tried to take tenant rental by having the tenant send the rental directly into his account and claimed the tenant had not made payment. When I reached out to the tenant the tenant confirmed that they had made payment, and the biggest of all he added a clause in my contract that gave him rights to the sale of my property. He was trying to sell my property and get a large percentage out of the sale without my knowledge. I was never interested in selling my property, that was never my intention. Please look out for this guy as we speak I have started a legal battle with him, BUT I want to warm everyone out there DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS with this guy.
