*****ENTLY CHARGED FOR WORK NOT DONE/PERFORMED

Precision Rewinders in Diep River, Cape Town These guys don't run a honest business -*****sters. Charged me R 2000 in total(R 400 for capacitor previous week+ R 1650 re-condition) for repair to booster pump and never even opened the pump. Storyline I took my irrigation pump to them on Monday 5 Feb 2024 explaining that pump was running but there was no pressure. I asked that they overhaul water outlet side - replace the seals & o-rings etc and that they pressure test. I asked chap named Peter, who works in the office and claims to be 1 of the owners, to please call me with a quote before going ahead as this is common sense and good business practice. Peter then tells me he will call me the next day with the quote. Needless to say he did not call and I had to phone their office 3 days later, Thursday 8 Feb 2024 at approximately12.30 the afternoon, to follow up...and this is where the fun began. Peter calls me next day, Friday 9 Feb 2024 at approximately 07.40am to say pump is all done and working great. I am a little suprised but I think OK - they must have all required parts on sight as this is what they specialise in. I get to Precision Rewinders premises at about 12pm on the same day. I get handed an Invoice for R1650. I clearly and categorically ask this Peter chap if the overhaul has been done and if pressure test was performed. He assures me that all has been done. I then pay, as I know that a brand new pump of same spec is about R 6000 and leave for home, grateful that I can re-attach booster pump to my irrigation system and that my garden can get some much needed water. Guess what - I attached the pump, running but no pressure. I then immediately take the pump back and ask to open the pump to inspect. To cut a long story short, they had not even opened the pump and things got heated & I claim *****. Peter then proceeds to blame the workers in the back but he had not even ordered the parts from the supplier. At the end of the day, in business, honesty & integrity paired with customer service is a non-negotiable. The sad thing is that I have been using these guys for many years for electrical re-winding services. I will rather deal with ethical small businesses. Desmond from DLS pump services was brilliant!
