I am extremely disappointed with the service I received from Dr. Van der Merwe's office. Despite multiple requests and clear communication, my account was handled very poorly. For nearly four months after my procedure, the incorrect claim codes have not been corrected, causing endless delays and frustrations. Discovery agents have contacted the office numerous times to resolve this issue, yet the accounts representative denied this and provided misleading information. To make matters worse, when I expressed my dissatisfaction and mentioned that I would not be returning to Dr. Van der Merwe because of this experience, the accounts representative rudely hung up on me. This unprofessional behavior and lack of accountability are unacceptable. I expected better care and service, but unfortunately, this experience has left me with a very negative impression. I would not recommend Dr. Van der Merwe's office to anyone looking for reliable and respectful medical service.
My recent visit to Fourways Life Hospital left me utterly dismayed and compelled to caution others against seeking care there. From the moment of check-in, I encountered a series of disappointments and frustrations that I cannot overlook. Despite my explicit request for a private room during booking, I was informed upon arrival that none were available. This inconvenience was exacerbated during my procedure when I found myself confined to a cramped space with over ten others, lacking even basic privacy. Repeated requests for a private room were met with dismissive responses, with nurses saying that they had to keep the private rooms open for quarantine purposes. Furthermore, the lack of communication and urgency regarding my medical needs was appalling. Despite my repeated inquiries about the duration of the catheter's placement, the staff claimed they couldn't reach my doctor for clarification. This disregard for my comfort and well-being persisted throughout the day, culminating in hours of unnecessary pain and distress. At 19:00, I confronted them about their failure to contact my doctor, prompting them to finally make the call. They checked the catheter for the first time, promised to call her back with an answer, but never returned to update me. The next day, my doctor confirmed that they had only contacted her at 19:00, and she had to instruct them to check the catheter and call her back, which they failed to do. Reflecting on this visit, as well as the harrowing experience my family endured during my daughter's illness three years ago, I am compelled to declare Fourways Life Hospital as the epitome of incompetence in private healthcare. I caution anyone in need of medical attention to steer clear of this establishment and seek care elsewhere.
