I’m very please with Nomthandazo’s service today. She was fantastic and her service was great
I hosted my baby shower at Verdicchio Wine Bar, and I regret ever choosing this establishment for such a special occasion. From the moment my guests arrived to prepare, the experience was nothing short of frustrating and disrespectful. What was meant to be a joyful celebration was instead marred by hostility and poor treatment, led primarily by Chef Sawan, whose behaviour was not only inappropriate but outright disgraceful. Chef Sawan’s actions were shocking — he was rude, confrontational, and unprofessional, with no regard for customer service or basic respect. He took it upon himself to approach and chase my guests out in a manner that was completely uncalled for. Not only did he bring up irrelevant information about losing business from 11am (which was not our problem), but he also made it a point to repeatedly remind us — paying customers — that we had to leave. Our reservation was from 13:30 to 17:30. Mains were only served at 16:55 and dessert arrived at 17:45 — after the supposed end time. Yet, we were being rushed and harassed to leave even while packing up and settling the bill. At this point, no one was seated, the table was being cleared, and I was still being rudely interrupted by Sawan, who insisted we had been told "several times" to go. Why a chef was even in the front of house aggressively confronting guests is beyond comprehension. His tone was hostile, and his attitude completely unacceptable — almost as if he was doing us a favour by allowing us to be there. As a Black woman and paying customer, I felt deeply disrespected and discriminated against. Sawan’s behaviour bordered on ******, and he made me feel unwelcome in a place I had paid in full for — including a fully paid set menu for 15 guests and a separate bar tab that was settled without issue. And yet, I was treated with contempt. I want to be clear: Verdicchio Wine Bar ruined my baby shower. What should have been a beautiful memory was turned into a stressful, embarrassing ordeal. My guests were shocked and equally disappointed by the treatment we received, and none of us will be returning. I would, however, like to commend the waitresses, Sinegugu, and the floor manager Dali, who handled us with grace and professionalism despite the chaos. They deserve recognition — but unfortunately, their efforts were completely overshadowed by the disgraceful conduct of Chef Sawan and the overall mishandling of our event. Verdicchio should be ashamed of how this was handled. You lost the business of 15 guests and more — not just for today, but permanently.
I’m pleased with the current service I’m receiving. However I was not happy at all with the service I received prior to the change in my policy. Nqobile the sales agent sold me something I didn’t want and when it was time to claim I was sent from pillar to post. Lesego from cancellations has been a God sent and provided excellent service from then until now
Prime Meridian Insurance is one of the WORST DECISIONS I have made in 2024! Upon filing the claim, I was informed by the claims assistant that my policy is under a "growing cover," which, I was told, limits my insurance payout to the accumulated amount in the growing cover, totalling R6,000. I expressed my concern to the agent, as I was initially informed that the growing cover was intended only for minor incidents—such as scratches, paint touch-ups, or minor fender benders—not for major accidents. My car, however, was involved in a significant accident, which I documented with photos and a repair quote indicating extensive damage, including two new doors (driver and left passenger), front and back bumpers, middle section replacement, and paintwork. Despite this, the claims assistant insisted that only the R6,000 cover would apply but assured me that she would escalate the matter to the legal department for review. Subsequently, Palesa Khantsi from the legal department contacted me via email, stating that she had reviewed my sales calls and believed I was adequately informed of the growing cover benefits. When I attempted to discuss this further with Palesa, I was informed that she no longer worked at Prime Insurance as of the previous Friday. I then spoke with Malebo, the claims agent, to explain that I did not feel adequately informed during my initial sales call. During the sales call, Nqobile, the sales agent, outlined that the primary distinction between the customised cover and comprehensive cover was the “open driver” feature and the coverage basis (retail or market value). When I specifically inquired about the growing benefit, she clarified that it was only applicable to minor accidents, like scratches or fender benders, and assured me that my car would be covered in case of a major accident. I explained all of this to Pearl Mazibuko in legal, but she maintained that all statutory disclosures were made, and I accepted the policy terms accordingly. I purchased this insurance policy based on Nqobile’s representation, comparing it to my existing comprehensive cover with Budget Insurance, which provided full coverage for the car’s retail value. Nqobile assured me that Prime’s comprehensive and customised cover options were similar, implying that Prime would fully cover my car in the event of an accident. However, my current experience with Prime is falling short of these assurances, leaving me with a damaged car and insufficient coverage. Now a month and a half later Prime is closing my claim with no resolution, when I try to speak to Pearl Mazibuko I'm put on hold and she is NEVER available to take my calls. I also tried asking the switch board to transfer me to anyone else in legal and NOT A SINGLE PERSON in the entire department is available. I have provided Santam, Prime's Insurer, with evidence supporting my claims, the claims agent agree that Nqobile mislead me yet Prime is refusing to Help. I don't recommend this insurance to anyone. DO NOT DO IT
