Hi there. I was at the hospital on the 3rd November 2024, my dad fell ill and we rushed him to Zuid Afrikaans, I know the hospital very well my mum is a patient there and I knew I was going to get the best help possible. However, I got to the emergency around 18H00 or so. Sister Aletta Malebane was the most helpful person there. Shortly after I saw the Dr walked in who was Dr N Pienaar, she requested all the tests be done to determine a diagnosis. Not a very friendly Dr. But she did her job, and I was very grateful for the service. So my dad was diagnosed with Cellulitis, and I don't know what Dr treats that, I would think a Podiatrist. However, Dr Pienaar confirmed that the doctor on call or the doctor at that hospital didn't treat patients with Key Care medical aid. I still don't know who that doctor is. However, while I was sitting in the waiting room, I did see a Dr walk into the emergency rooms and then walked out. That is when we were told the hospital was unable to help mt dad. So I was really shocked about that because this would have fallen under hospital treatment and not anything else. So, then I had to take my 81-year-old father put him into my car, who is also a Diabetic that had nothing to eat, who couldn't take his medication because we had to drive him to another hospital. because Zuid Afrikaans hospital couldn't help a patient that came through the emergency rooms because the doctor didn't accept his medical aid plan. I then drove my dad like after 20h00 or so to Medforum where apparently there was a Dr there that has accepted by father. I have been in and out of hospitals with my parents the entire year. I would like to know if a patient is going through the hospital why is it that, that this doctor couldn't treat my dad. Thanks Santhia
