I often refer to HelloPeter when considering doing business with a new supplier. I have come to realise that HelloPeter does not give enough information to actually judge whether an entity is good or bad to deal with. Let me give an example. If an entity has had 100 reviews and they are all bad you would immediately decide that they are bad to deal with. This is entirely true if the reviews are based on 100 transactions, however if the review is based on 10 million transactions, one would be very safe in deciding that the entity can fully trusted. Unfortunately number of transactions is very difficult to access but the number of customers would enable the user to come up with a far better evaluation. Despite this weakness HelloPeter is still an excellent source of information.
The personal service at the Chamberlains store is excellent. The assistants are knowledgeable, polite and helpful and deserve a rating of 5 points but parts of management score very very much lower. The Search feature on their websites is absolutely appalling. I contacted them in February of 2024 and sent them examples. on behalf of the Managing Director, his Personal Assistant advised that they were working on it. I indicated that I could assist and advise them how to achieve an excellent Search in less than 2 weeks. I would do a presentation using their own data to demonstrate how the search would work. I stressed that I was seeking no compensation, and that the advice and demonstration would be completely free. I have checked over the last 6 months and there has been no improvement to the Search capability. The company has indicated that it is not interested in seeing a free demonstration. The Chamberlain website states that it welcomes feedback from customers, but this obviously does apply to upper management. Over the months I have repeated my offer and there has been an interchange of more than 20 emails. They are obviously too busy and important to waste their time on a free demonstration of an approach that might work to the advantage of the company. I assumed that curiosity alone would have prompted them to see what this "nutter" would show them at no cost!
I have dealt with this company for over 20 years. It has always provided excellent service at affordable prices. Easy to deal with and bend over backwards to assist in every possible. Highly recommended.
Plumbing Mecca Boksburg was a pleasure to deal with. We had a burst geyser and OUTsurance sent this company to sort out the problem. They were quick, efficient and a pleasure to deal with. We have worked with many different plumbing companies in the past but Plumbing Mecca Boksburg has been our best experience. No hesitation in recommending this company.
We recently experienced a burst geyser. OUTsurance was awesome. I described the problem and without any questions OUTsurance arranged to send out a team. Mike Van Der Merwe was the advisor assigned to me and he kept following up to ensure that we were happy with progress. Our past experience with this company has proved that the lowest premium cost can also yield the best results. It is the efficiency and attitude that we are so grateful for. We have never regretted the day we moved to OUTsurance.
Hellopeter is biased. The rating method used by Hellopeter and many other rating agencies is extremely biased. The rating scale allows only positive ratings which does not in any way reflect how negatively some reviewers feel about a particular company or entity. To remove this biased approach, Hellopeter should change the ratings scale to reflect satisfaction form negative 5 to plus 5.
PayPal is the worst company I have ever dealt with when it come to resolving a problem. This is especially frustrating when they caused the problem in the first place. A payment was made to me which did not appear in my account. The sender of the payment contacted PayPal advising them that the Payment had not been received by me. PayPal interpreted this as I had not received the goods and promptly put the payment on hold. This was on the 13th July and since then, there have been numerous messages using the Message Centre. On the 19th July I received a call from PayPal, Dublin in Ireland and was informed that the conflict had been resolved and that I would receive the payment within the next 72 hours. At this stage (more than 160 hours later the money has still not been received and I continue to get the message that the matter is under review) I phoned Dublin twice to try and resolve the matter and was transferred to the South African Pay Pal expert. The phone just rang and rang and then I was informed by a robot that the office was closed. They have also avoided my question as to whether I will receive interest while they greedily sit on my money. The HelloPeter rating system needs to be revised. They need to add a Zero rating. 1 star out of 5 stars is 20% which is by far too generous and implies a level of satisfaction which does not exist. Zero would be a more accurate rating.
I would do many more reviews if you made the login process a little easier. I have so many passwords for so many different organizations that I normally just leave the site when presented with a password request. I always know my email address so the user Id is easy. It would be great if Hellopeter could just send a one time password OTP to my cell or email address (whichever I choose). I know this is trivial but I am aware of leaving your site at least 3 times recently when asked for a Password. I have a register of Passwords on another computer but it is just too much of a hassle. Amazing service, delightful to deal with and went the extra mile. Well done PrintCanvas. I sent the same enquiry to 6 different companies claiming to do printing on canvas. I got 2 responses. As soon as I mentioned I wanted something out of the ordinary one of the 2 remaining companies dropped out with only PrintCanvas going out of their way to help. I placed the order on the 25th May and the two prints were delivered on the 27th May. Wow, really impressive. There was also a short note included giving me information and tips on how to do my own mounting and ---- wait for it glue to do the job and offcuts of canvas to practice on. Well done PrintCanvas 10 out of 10.
