Stay away from The Wood Doctor - ****, ****, **** COMPANY!

My rating is actually -1 🤬. I’m here to tell everyone to stay far away from this cast of clowns! I needed my dining room table sanded down and refinished. I was told that the job would take 4-6 days. I should have known that something was very wrong when a banged up bakkie arrived at my house to pick up the table. After the 4-6 days had come and gone, I sent a message to check on progress and delivery timeline. That’s when the clown show really began. After having initially dealt with Evidence (who thereafter went AWOL and her cellphone was on voicemail - btw there’s no office number, no receptionist or administrator, only cell numbers 😱😱), Davidson entered the scene - smooth talker who lies from the time he opens his mouth. He told me a **** and bull story which he’s probably rehashed numerous times to other unsuspecting customers - and mentioned Gary 🤯. I then got a call from a Louisa Freitas - so-called Project Manager - yet another ***** with a story. At some point during all of this, I got a message from Paul Lushi - same bull****. All I wanted was my table. I asked for pictures, none were sent. I then drove to Kew to the address listed on their website and letterhead - 43 11th Street - to fetch my table. There I discovered the biggest lie and deception!! At that address is a recycling company called AST Recycling. There is no Wood Doctor anywhere in that area. They seem to be operating around the Turffontein/Rosettenville area in the South of Johannesburg. I made a big stink about this whole ordeal including threatening to go to media etc. my table was delivered, still wet with fresh paint. I had expected that it would be spray painted to ensure an even finish. Nope, a sponge roller is what they use. Do not even think to do business with these people. What they’re doing is basically ********. Their professional looking website is nothing but a front to deceive people. BTW, Davidson Banda has a profile on LinkedIn - he’s associated with The Maintenance Hub, Outdoor Lifestyle Products and McSon. Whether or not he and the guy on the phone are the same person, is something worth looking into. If they are, he should face the music because he’s been doing this for far too long and has not faced any consequences!
