My Sony camera was given in for repair at Cameratek being the nominated repair agency after withdrawal of Sony from SA. The camera frequently switched over from camera mode to video mode without user input, which then had to be rectified by activating the switch. Cameratek quoted R2000 for the repair and the unit was returned mid August, 2 days before I went on a Botswana trip. The original problem was resolved but the camera now had several problem mainly a misaligned lens and the software on startup being unacceptably slow. The camera was returned to Cameratek but they now claim the lens needs to be replaced at R5000. They claim the misalignment was due to the camera being dropped (which it was but 3 years before the repair and there was no misalignment noticeable of photos taken before the repair) and that there is sand in the lens (which was there before the repair and should have been attended to by cleaning/servicing during repair). The cannot even confirm the issue level of the software before and after repair. Cameratek messed up the camera during repair and are now dodging there responsibilities
