I locked my car keys inside my car today and contacted the service provider for assistance. As a woman alone in South Africa, this was a stressful and unsafe situation. I received a call at 13:08 confirming my location and was told someone was on the way. By 13:48, no one had arrived. I phoned again for an update because I needed to be back at work by 14:00. They said they would check and call me back. Instead, the contractor sent me a WhatsApp saying he would only arrive in 20–30 minutes, depending on traffic. This was after I had already waited 40 minutes. When I explained that I had to return to work and asked if they could unlock the car and bring me the keys afterward, they refused, saying they cannot unlock a vehicle unsupervised. They then cancelled the entire job and told me to log the call again with my insurance so someone could only come out after 17:00. I requested to lodge a formal complaint, and my request was ignored three times. This is unacceptable service—poor communication, long delays, zero accountability, and no regard for customer safety. I was left stranded with no assistance despite following the correct process. Extremely disappointing experience. I expect far better from a service that is supposed to assist in emergencies.
