So not waste your time doing surveys or bidding contests at The Panel Station. They stopped paying out any vouchers two months ago. They could be bankrupt or cash-strapped but that is no excuse. You will get nothing for your time spent. I made the mistake so that you do not have to. Currently I am owed R200 for wins and redemptions, with no hope in sight for pay-out. One of the really sad things about them is their support service make jokes at your expense when you complain. The only reply you will get from them is, at best "we are attending to your query" (forever) or at worst "we surely will send your voucher today", yet they know full well that will never happen. In other words, they are sarcastic for adding words like "surely". Just deregister yourself at TPS, to move on to more worthy uses of your time.
On 6 January I filled in the COMPLETE form online for disinvesting a small amount of my unit trust, indicating that the need is for an emergency. This form already included all details including tax residency. Today I received an email stating the transaction cannot be completed until I complete "the attached form". This I would glady do, but the email by Levern Louw did not include an attached form! Due to that oversight I am not receiving the funds as urgently as requested AND I now have to wait for Old Mutual to reply to a completely unnecessary request, namely to provide the form which Levern Louw did not attach. On two issues this delay is due to Old Mutual's error, namely firstly that I gave all the information required online but apparently that is not enough and secondly that there was no attached form in your email that said "complete section 4 of the attached form". The wording of your email also threatens to close the transaction, your wording is shocking. In addition, in anticipation, I went through a process in December to ensure my online profile is complete in all respects before I start this process. Your records will show that I went through several steps in December 2025 to ensure everything is ready for this urgent transaction in January. I already complained in December about then being asked to provide information twice. There is a word that starts with "incomp" that describes my experience of Old Mutual Unit Trusts in this regard, I am most unhappy and require urgent resolution by senior officials. When in South Africa I always try to stay in a Southern Sun hotel, not only for the reliable service but also for the frequent guest loyalty program. Despite all that, I was still surprised by the high standards at 54 on Bath hotel where I spent my birthday this year. The birthday surprises, the room service and the excellent Level 4 restaurant chef (breakfast, dinner and High Tea) all contributed to a memorable stay. The manager called me to answer all my questions about the frequent guest benefits, a great loyalty program that is often underestimated in my view. Thank you for everything you did for us, 54 on Bath Hotel. You deserve your five stars. Finally I would just like to also mention the hotel that kept my membership of Southern Sun alive for many years of affordable but comfortable family sea vacations when our kids were small, which is where the relationship with Southern Sun became a permanent one: Century City Easystay. That one hotel chain can have two such vastly different hotels consistently delivering relationship-building service, is why Southern Sun is number 1 in a country where service standards are usually unreliable.

If Sanlam were to really look at my decades-old profile, you would see that I have been transacting on one of my investments (a unit trust) in other words I always HAD the security level required to do that, and I used to be happy with the website. The unit trust is not very important but my full online access is, for when my retirement annuity matures in 2026. 2. This month I complained that things changed, first the unit trust was not visible on my portfolio and then my personal data showed a new conflict, despite the fact that I did not change anything. This is stressful because of the warning at the top of the website saying OTP's will soon be required, which will need my personal data to be correct. 3. Both the above issues were solved by someone without communicating to me what was going on, so I let Sanlam know it was solved and please stop doing anything on my profile because on that date everything was correct. 4. Thereafter I received emails from Sanlam stating I requested a security upgrade. I never did. When I checked, I saw that although the visibility of that unit trust was restored, I now suddenly lack the security level to transact on it. 5. When I complained, a different person emailed me stating that my security level has been downgraded on my request. Once again, I never asked for that! I just asked that people stop changing things in my profile without written approval because I am about to retire and it is stressful to struggle with a website that worked perfectly a decade ago. 6. I now insist that Sanlam restore my access to where it was before someone fiddled with it. You can see on my record that earlier this year everything was correct and visible on my profile, and I had the security level required to transact, which I did several times in the past. 7. Email me before changing anything on your website that affects me, because my largest retirement annuity matures in 2026, I will invest it with Sanlam, and my retirement confidence will therefore depend on the stability of my profile on this website. 8. This is not the first time I had to complain about access and personal details to Sanlam, I also went through this in 2024 until my details and access were rectified after a website redesign at Sanlam. My confidence level in Sanlam is therefore low and I think about moving to another company when my investments mature. 9. I need Sanlam to restore my confidence in the stability of my online access to Sanlam. Instead of several people contacting me, I need one comprehensive WRITTEN response. 10. If there is a new security process which requires that I answer my phone, then inform me beforehand in writing so that I know what is going on, and tell me what number will call me, so that I can add that number to my contact list to know it is Sanlam calling. But WHY is this necessary, I had full security clearance and the website was working perfectly, earlier in 2025? 11. Sanlam is extremely important to retirees, be more sensitive and communicative to our needs. Stability is the priority, as little change as possible. 12. For example, I need proper written information about the process required in 2026 when my main retirement annuity matures, will I get that? Good day, I used to be able to see all my Old Mutual products in one place on the website. However, insurance policies are no longer there only investment products. I feel cut off from information regarding insurance. The info about investments is still good, that is why this is not a one-star review. Now I received a letter about my long-term Flexi-insurance which asked for my tax number to be sent to an email address, which I did and I also asked for information. However the email address you gave was wrong, because I only received an auto-reply stating "your claim will be processed"! (It was not a claim). My flexi insurance policy matures on the first of May in 2026 and I just want to know what the process and amount will be, given that it is a very old Flexi policy. However, I cannot get that on the website anymore and the email address in your letter seems to be wrong. Why do I have to use my call-time to call around for private information? Other companies have a secure query form on their website, but my long-term insurance is not even on the OM website anymore. My policy number is provided below for reference.
