I am absolutely disgusted and beyond disappointed with the level of service from this property management company. We were scheduled to move out today, and after last night’s heavy storms, the roof started leaking and the ceiling eventually caved in. This is a serious health and safety hazard, and yet nothing was done. We repeatedly reported the issue and the care taker who is overworked and underpayed and not given enough tools to carry out his duties was being shouted at over the phone by Martin the property manager. No compassion or urgency was shown. To make matters worse, the property manager, Martin, from the Johannesburg South office, had the nerve to say to the caretaker, “why aren’t those people out anyway” — not realizing he was on loudspeaker. I cannot even begin to imagine the kind of reaction we would have received if someone had actually been injured. Their service is inhumane and utterly revolting. They don’t maintain Alveda Square at all. Tenants are expected to maintain their own units, handle their own pest control, and basically fend for themselves. The only thing this company seems to be good at is reminding you when your rent is due. I would never recommend this company to anyone. Their lack of care, responsibility, and professionalism is shocking. Save yourself the stress, the danger, and the frustration — look elsewhere.
