Worse Experience

My husband and I recently booked a spa treatment at El Elyon Spa at the Protea Hotel in Umhlanga. The booking process was smooth and hassle-free, which we appreciated. When we arrived, we were greeted politely. However, before our treatment even started, we were asked to give a 5-star review in exchange for free hot stones. When we asked if we could rather leave a review after the massage based on our experience, we were told that the review had to be done immediately and it had to be 5 stars. We had previously visited another branch and had a good experience there, so we agreed. Unfortunately, once we entered the treatment room, the experience went downhill. The floor had a lot of oil on it and I almost slipped. The towels provided were not clean and had brown marks, and the gowns smelled unpleasant and appeared dirty. The massage oils themselves also did not smell pleasant. During the massage, I even noticed a medium-sized ****roach in the room, which was extremely off-putting in what should be a relaxing and hygienic environment. Overall, the massage itself was below satisfactory and the cleanliness standards were very disappointing. Considering the price paid, this was not the experience we expected. Sadly, this was a very disappointing visit, and based on this experience, we would not return.
