I ordered unique puzzles which made the shape of the animal being depicted. It was a closing down sale and said to be much reduced and free delivery. After making payment of over R2500 (I had bought gifts for many of my extended family members) I have not received ANYTHING and no word from them either. I am sure this is a fake company in the online space. So upsetting. I am writing this review in the hope that others read this and learn from my mistake.
Pick 'n Pay has the most frustrating checkout system. While putting your items through the till you and the teller are unable to see whether a promised discount has been applied. Only at the end of the shop when payment has been made and the receipt has been printed can one see what was actually paid by the buyer. I find that I have to then go straight on to the customer services queue 9 out of 10 times following payment, making my shopping experience anywhere from 5-20 min longer. It is so bad that I have now got to the point of taking photos on my phone of the promotions when i collect them off the shelf so that I hopefully save the teller some time when I go to correct the mistake. What i find most upsetting is that the many people, and particularly the disadvantaged, will often not notice or have the confidence to take this on and this means that in essence Pick 'n Pay is stealing from the very people they claim to be looking after. I wonder how much money they make off overcharging people daily if I have this experience almost every time I am there...
I had the most wonderful surprise and gift from them about a week ago. As a loyal customer they sent me a box of their new range of peanut butter (as well as some other great treats) to enjoy and tell others about. It was such a wonderful gesture and made my day. I always find Buttanutt to be efficient, reliable and professional with any order I place with them. They are an excellent local business, whom I can highly recommend and wish all the best for their future!
I have experienced completely unsatisfactory service in trying to get authorization for the recommended treatment for my father's terminal liver cancer. A new form of treatment was recommended by the attending physician more than 6 weeks ago, which could be both life prolonging, and if used timeously, curative. However, we are still awaiting any sort of response as to what contribution his FULL medical aid( ie not a hospital plan) will cover. The full cost of the treatment totals around half a million rand, which makes it basically impossible for all retired citizens. I have been told that Discovery cover this treatment completely, with no reservation,. and it is believed the reason for this is that their treatment guidelines and protocols are up to date and research based. I find this slow response time (a 6 week period and still waiting) to the treatment request entirely unacceptable in view of the fact that he has only been given 3-6 months to live!
