I accidently signed up online for ABSA Notify Me. Now I get emails for three accounts on a weekly basis and have to pay for every email. I tried to cancel it on the website, but it does not allow me to cancel it. I can create a notify message, but I cannot delete it! The emails I get, display "For assistance please call 0860040302", but when I phoned this number, I get a message: "this number does not exist!" I phoned ABSA Support, and the consultant said, He cannot stop it and I have to go to a branch to stop it. I then went to the Westville, Pinetown branch where there was a long queue of people waiting. After 30 minutes the queue did not move, and I gave up. It seems like ABSA is deliberately making it as difficult as possible for you to stop a recurring expense!
I signed up for Etoro trading on 1 September 2020. Most documents were quickly reviewed but the W8BEN form to trade US stocks was not. I informed them and thy said they'll look into it. They just ignored me from then on. I am still waiting for them to review the form and today it is a month later. My wife also signed up and is also waiting for the form review.

On 26 December I purchased an item advertised for R349 from SoleilGlo.com
I then received an SMS telling me that there was a charge of R2007 for SoleilGlo and to phone ********** 505 to if the charge was not mine. I immediately phoned the number and was informed by the lady that there is nothing she can do as I made the purchase! I went to Hellopeter and saw that there were similar cases with Soleilglo and that it was a scam company. I phoned ABSA again and they told me I had to contact **********
Why can’t Absa/Mastercard just chargeback the amount as this is blatant fraud?
