****my spam-callers. Cannot recommend.
Don't be fooled by the positive reviews - OpenWeb has 0 customer service. The helpline is 100% automated, and if they can't solve your problem they just start ignoring you. I've been on their "super duper awesome uncapped unshaped up to 50mbps" MTN LTE for 6 months, and have barely had a functional connection for 4 of those, to the point where I'm not relying more on other ISPs and expensive data bundles just to be able to do my work. I've provided them with proof, stats, done dozens of "please power off your router for at least 30/60 minutes" (which NEVER works) ad nauseum, but dare to point out that their solutions don't work, or that the issue isn't load shedding because _your area doesn't get load shed_, and whoops - they just go back to ghosting you. This ISP is run by a bunch of **** artists and a childish, useless techie with a God complex. PS - their advertising on their packages being "unshaped with high priority on streaming and gaming" is demonstrably false, and deserves to be reported to the ombud.
Literally not getting what I paid for. It's been months of problems - there is no telephonic support, you send a mail (and wait), or send a WhatsApp (and wait), only for them to mail and tell you the problem isn't *them*, it's *you*, OR they blame the provider for QoS problems, when a) the provider doesn't have or implement QoS/AUP on this package tier, and b) any speed test site doesn't see my connection as being with the provider (MTN), but with "Internet Solutions". It's obvious that they heavily shape and limit connections, even though I'm paying for a premium service that according to the advertising on their web page _does not come with these limitations_. Ironically I knew this going in (yes, the fault is mine), because their head of sales in an email conversation admitted to me that the "premium unshaped" package comes with shaping whereas the "super premium unshaped package" _probably_ doesn't. So yes, blatant false advertising, and a horrible experience. AVOID!!!!!
1) Capitec automatically extended the period of my fixed term account without my permission 2) Withdrawing or closing said fixed term account then incurs heavy penalties 3) I need to withdraw a large sum in cash by a certain date, and their arbitrary hard limits on withdrawals makes it *impossible* to gain access to what is essentially *my* money (i.e. my bank is basically denying me access to my money).
I have had three claims in a row handled entirely incorrectly. First claim was to be paid out to me, and was incorrectly paid out to the provider. The second claim was for entire statement, instead of the specific entries which I *clearly* stated in my claim submission. The third claim resulted in a random amount (?) being claimed, and it's not even clear if it is/was paid out to the provider, or me (as requested). In the first instance, my efforts to follow up were initially largely ignored, then I was simply told that I had "lodged the claim incorrectly", and that they "could do nothing about it" (a blatant lie in the end) and that I had to "log the claim again" (with *NO* explanation as to how they would rebalance my account for the amount incorrectly paid out to the provider). This was only resolved by me physically going into their head office and making the problem theirs, forcing them to stop ignoring my complaint and fobbing off *THEIR* error on me. In the second instance, again, I *IMMEDIATELY* notified them that they had logged the claim incorrectly, however they ignored my notice and went ahead and processed the claim anyway - again, zero communication, responses, etc from their side. In this instance, there was zero redress or recourse, as again, Bestmed refused to accept liability for their error. The third claim, while I thought having learned my lesson the previous two times by going in to their head office first and having someone there log the claim correctly on my behalf, has again turned into a fiasco, and *AGAIN* my requests to deal with a claims agent directly has gone completely ignored for almost a week.
