PROLONG DO NOT HONOUR THEIR WARRANTY
Prolong is the only engine treatment company to offer a Lifetime Limited Product Engine Warranty and also has the most generous eligibility requirements of any engine treatment warranty available. A vehicle less than 10 years old, with less than 100,000 miles on the odometer may be registered.Just purchase the 12-ounce size of Prolong Engine Treatment and add it to your vehicle's crankcase (the same opening where you pour in motor oil), complete the warranty registration form that comes inside the package and mail it in.

You will receive a letter of thanks from Prolong, with a renewal form to use with your next application. Once registered, the warranty may be continued for as long as you own the vehicle, just by adding 8-ounce Engine Treatment Booster within every 6,000 miles or six months -- whichever comes first -- and mailing in the renewal form.
did not honour their guarantee Dear Mr De Silva,
We acknowledge receipt of your complaint and comment as follows:

As you stated you bought on Thursday 20th August 2015 a service kit at Walmer Midas as per invoice the items were, anti-freeze, Shell Helix HX3 5lt, oil filter, fuel filter and Prolong 350ml engine treatment. At the time of purchase from Midas you stated that you were not happy with the oil filter as it seemed incorrect but Midas confirmed that it was the correct unit for your vehicle. You & your brother in law then proceeded with the lubricant service.
You then state that your wife drove the said vehicle on Tuesday 25th August 2015 and this is when the engine failure occurred. The failure occurred because, as you state the oil filter came off and all the engine oil was lost. You returned to Midas the oil filter that came off and Midas replaced the filter with the correct unit and supplied you with 5lt engine oil free.
You also state that the engine seized up number 3 & 4 pistons and that the engine is with the engineers with a cost for parts and engineering alone of +- R 5000.00. You ask if you can only get the money for the parts back as you feel, apar
